When, where and how did you come into contact with the Hare Krishna Movement?

I came in contact with Hare Krishna in muscat seven years back.

Name the nearest or most frequently Visited ISKCON temple/ centre and name few of the devotees whom you know.

Hare Krishna, " Dandavat Pranaam to all Vaishnavas". My journey into Krishna Consciousness has been a slow and steady one. I had first received Bhagvat Gita as it is from a devotee 20 years back. I couldnt understand much of what was written, but unknowingly I had treasured it in the safe locker of my cupboard. Seven Years back I had been to Muscat, Oman. in search of greener pastures. My sister and Brother in law and their two Kids stay in Oman. My sister had then recently started visiting a krishna devotee ( Initiated ) family on thursdays. They were conducting classes in the evening alongwith bhajan culminating with delicious prasadam. I also started visiting the place and started chanting the mahamantra, then it was mainly aimed at seeking Krishnas blessing for a job I was searching for. But as per Krishnas wishes I couldnt find a suitable job, I fell sick and had to return back to india. But the short period I had been in Oman had sowed the seeds of Krishna consciousness in me. Honestly speaking even then I was not so serious but I used to chant The mahamantra 8- 10 rounds and sometimes 16 rounds. As it is I had given up nonvegetarian food 20 years back, so that wasnt an impediment. In the mean while my sister became quite serious in KC and finally along with my brother in law they took initiation from HH Jaypataka Swami Maharaj. and then she pursuaded me to be more serious in Krishna Consciousness. So for the past Three years I have taken up Krishna Consciousness in its true spirit. I am now observing all the regulations religiously chanting 16 rounds. I am a regular regular visitor at Iskcon, Akurdi, Pune and am pursuing Bhakti Shastri Course conducted by the temple. I know I have a Long way to go and I only pray to Krishna for his mercy that he bless me so that I can continue in his Bhakti as long as I am in this body and continue birth after birth in the same manner. And Yes Now The Great Book Bhagwat Gita As it is has come out of the locker and now am beginning to understand a few things.Hare Krishna.

What are your expectations from this community?

I want to be in the association of devotees, which is the only way which will help me in making steady progress in Krishna Consciousness.

Describe any specific service you would love to offer to Lord Krishna & His devotees?
