When, where and how did you come into contact with the Hare Krishna Movement?

I have a friend who i've known for 40 yrs, and he has been a devotee in the Hare Krsna movement for 30 yrs and last year i found myself talking to him about spiritual matters. It had taken me 30 yrs to arrive at that juncture and relate to him my own insights and awareness which i had gained through personal experiences as i travelled through the wilderness of life. We meet each week and discuss Krsna Conciousness, and i am reading the Bhagavad Gita which is refreshing and nourishing.

Name the nearest or most frequently Visited ISKCON temple/ centre and name few of the devotees whom you know.

The nearest centre is in Bristol, UK, but i have not travelled there yet. When i met Laurence last year and spoke to him of my long quest for knowledge and spiritual truth, i was in the early days of recovery from a major surgical proceedure and it is now that i am feeling stronger and more able. I am to travel to the Bristol centre in 3 or 4 weeks when there is a special event taking place, and this will be my induction into the community.

Please describe yourself so that other like minded devotees can find you.

I am an introverted & intuitive person, and i can be quiet and reserved at times. I try to be honest and sincere at all times, but its not always possible. I do enjoy reading and i am learning to play guitar which is also therapeutic and fun; i'm discovering new things about myself and exploring life from a different perspective. I am about to commit myself to something i deeply believe in, and i have no anxieties or fears, only a willingness to embrace the sense of belonging that one feels when having arrived home.

What are your expectations from this community?

I don't have any expectations. I honestly don't know what to expect! This is a completely new experience for me which cannot be compared to anything previously experienced. Perhaps there is one thing; when you know that you have found something of great value it fills you with feelings of awe and good fortune. It is this sense of gratitude and appreciation that i would expect from within the community.

Describe any specific service you would love to offer to Lord Krishna & His devotees?

I can only think of one specific offering which would be of service to Lord Krsna, his devotees and myself; to become a committed member of Lord Krsna's community.
