When, where and how did you come into contact with the Hare Krishna Movement?

The very first time I came to the temple was when I visited the Govinda's restaurant at the ISKCON temple in Detroit. At the time I did not even know it was affiliated with the Hare Krishna's. A year later, while I was attending college and taking a class on the Anthropology of religion, the professor told us students that for the final paper, we had to write a paper on a religion that was not of our upbringing. I remembered the Hare Krishna temple, and decided to do my paper on them. I was also searching for some deeper spiritual meaning in my life, so when I attended the Sunday Feast, I found myself attracted. I bought a book in the gift shop and wrote my paper, but I kept returning to find out more.

Name the nearest or most frequently Visited ISKCON temple/ centre and name few of the devotees whom you know.

I am currently residing in the ashrama of the ISKCON temple in Alachua, FL, USA. Before that, I was living in the ashrama of the Philadelphia temple for 11 years. Some of the devotees I know are Mother Laxmimoni, Mother Akuti, Mother Mukhya (the temple president)

Please describe yourself so that other like minded devotees can find you.

Somebody sincerely trying to practice Krishna Consciousness. I like to bake sweets and cook. I also have artistic qualities, which I haven't utilized in a long while, but would like to try and get back into that. I like reading stavas and astakams, and though my pronunciation is not good and my memorizing skills are poor, I'm trying to recite. I dunno... what else? I just began a gluten-free/sugar free/dairy free diet, which is hard to maintain living in the temple, but I'm trying very hard. And I'm currently employed part-time at Krishna.com, working in the warehouse, processing new items that come in, taking photographs and editing them for the website, and maintaining the online store.

Describe any specific service you would love to offer to Lord Krishna & His devotees?

I would like to be more involved in drama and art in general. I also can provide recipes.
