Parenting a Child Intelligence (Article)

In the reality the means and goal of education is to cultivate intelligence and sobriety in child. Intelligence means child understands things as they are; what is what. Sobriety means freedom from selfishness, when person acts with the understanding that he should act for the welfare of others. Naturally child right from birth is in selfish state. He become greedy, naughty, becomes angry and wants to live only for himself. Vedas say that selfishness is the sign of intelligence in the mode of ignorance. Mostly we all take birth in ignorance. This should considered and step by step parents should try to bring out the child from ignorance up to being intelligent and explain softly about his mistakes. Very important that every punishment connected with avoiding association should be later explained why it so happened. If you do not explain then punishment will have bad results. This should be done without any anger and this can be done by someone who able to control within himself the sense of irritability. This is very difficult. Basically speaking if one is not kind to a particular person then he won’t be able to give something to that person. If you are not kind to your husband then you won’t be able to give to him something good no matter how many geniuses you have.  If you are not kind to a child then you won’t be able to give something good to him. Kindness, compassion – these are the bases of education. If we are really compassionate to a child and we respect him then we will be able to educate him. If we dislike our child or have dry relations with him then educating him will become very difficult, no need even to try to do so. Or else better to give it to a husband or wife who is having better relations with kid then we we are having.

In education we have to remember another important thing: What we give to a child up to 13 years he will give back after 13. This means, if we beat a child till his puberty and mock on him then after that he will start to do the same with us. And he will mock on us as much as we mocked on him for 13 years. Later he will be pacified and there will remain only dry relations. If we gave proper knowledge till 13, support in life; we were understandable to his problems and were compassionate then after 13 children also will become compassionate and will become a good companion in life. It is like a scale: in the beginning child is unprotected, weak and after 13 he becomes stronger than parents. He does not have yet an experience of life but much naughtiness: we say to him something but he does in opposite. This means education was wrong and one will suffer for that. But if education was proper then with great enthusiasm he will assist patents, maybe sometimes with many mistakes. This a normal growth a personality – he will yearn for doing something but sometimes beak down but there is no much problem in it. Child will cry himself if something is getting wrong in his actions. This is a very good style of education which means you educated him correctly.
