Yes vaisnava always serve humanity and love all kind, nor he hate or does he value wealth but in order to know one itself, he had to adopt one logo mean way of life so other could know who he is. It is just like Krishna, he have looks and through his looks one could say he is Krishna so same way ISKCON devotee have looks and through his looks one know his being. Well this applies once you take initiation so before it does not matter what you adop in life.
Once you take the initiation, you bound by rules to serve Krishna and his beloved devotees without lust and once you serve Krishna devotee you have very little time to make wealth? Once you adopt Krishna beloved devotee, your wealth is love and you spread without any price. In this sense you are free from all materialistic value. In todays society nothing is free everything has price attached to it. This prices are there to run the life day to day so sameway one should know time has price too more you spend more you get so this is life. Krishna says to Arjuna it is Karma so you have no choice except to do it either way you are paying good for good KARMA bad for bad KARMA.
