How does Krishna Consciousness see LGBT community?

If I accidentally sent a message to everybody in this group, I apologize. I thought that was the way to raise questions. Below is my question.

=======================

Hare Krishna

As this group is titled, I hope I can get some prefect answers here.

I read one of Swami Prabhupada's books and in that book he does not accept people with gay or lesbian sexuality. Does Krishna Consciousness accept LGBT community?

I think it is better to ask this question early here since I am gay. I enjoy reading Swami Prabhupada's and some other master's books. But some did not comment on LGBT sexuality, and some condemn homosexuality.

  • Thank you very much for your open and welcoming arms. I have been following Krsna consciousness for more than 2 years. My sexuality never hinders my progress toward enlightenment since the most important is the relation with Lord Krsna. I am not judgmental to other people's private life as long as they are not physically or mentally hurt. Besides, the monogamous relationship that I and my partner share is so beautiful and it made me realized that God exists. That was how I started to search for God.

  • Hare Krsna,

    Please accept my humble obeisance,

    By our past activities we all have got this present body, none of the bodies are having any good qualities, since it is formed of the inferior nature. Until, we make the best use of our body( be it male/female/transgender), for the service of Lord Krsna (which Srila Prabhupada refers to as "Bad Bargain") our body whatsoever, is useless. So in Krsna Consciousness we emphasize only on cultivating our relation with Lord Krsna (i.e. a Servant-Master relation).

    So just chant Hare Krsna, and read Srila Prabhupada's books... you won't find any better occupation than Krsna Consciousness, as it is our eternal nature or constitutional position...nothing to do with the body.
