PURE BHAKTI part 3.

ahaḿ mamābhimānotthaiḥkāma-lobhādibhir malaiḥvītaḿ yadā manaḥ śuddhamaduḥkham asukhaḿ samamWhen one is completely cleansed of the impurities of lust and greed produced from the false identification of the body as "I" and bodily possessions as "mine," one's mind becomes purified. In that pure state he transcends the stage of so-called material happiness and distress.(S.B.3:25:16).tadā puruṣa ātmānaḿkevalaḿ prakṛteḥ paramnirantaraḿ svayaḿ-jyotiraṇimānam akhaṇḍitamAt that time the soul can see himself to be transcendental to material existence and always self-effulgent, never fragmented, although very minute in size.(S.B.3:25:17).jñāna-vairāgya-yuktenabhakti-yuktena cātmanāparipaśyaty udāsīnaḿprakṛtiḿ ca hataujasamIn that position of self-realization, by practice of knowledge and renunciation in devotional service, one sees everything in the right perspective; he becomes indifferent to material existence, and the material influence acts less powerfully upon him. (S.B.3:25:18).mad-āśrayāḥ kathā mṛṣṭāḥśṛṇvanti kathayanti catapanti vividhās tāpānaitān mad-gata-cetasaḥEngaged constantly in chanting and hearing about Me, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, the sādhus do not suffer from material miseries because they are always filled with thoughts of My pastimes and activities. (S.B.3:25:23).satāḿ prasańgān mama vīrya-saḿvidobhavanti hṛt-karṇa-rasāyanāḥ kathāḥtaj-joṣaṇād āśv apavarga-vartmaniśraddhā ratir bhaktir anukramiṣyatiIn the association of pure devotees, discussion of the pastimes and activities of the Supreme Personality of Godhead is very pleasing and satisfying to the ear and the heart. By cultivating such knowledge one gradually becomes advanced on the path of liberation, and thereafter he is freed, and his attraction becomes fixed. Then real devotion and devotional service begin. (S.B.3:25:25).bhaktyā pumāñ jāta-virāga aindriyāddṛṣṭa-śrutān mad-racanānucintayācittasya yatto grahaṇe yoga-yuktoyatiṣyate ṛjubhir yoga-mārgaiḥThus consciously engaged in devotional service in the association of devotees, a person gains distaste for sense gratification, both in this world and in the next, by constantly thinking about the activities of the Lord. This process of Kṛṣṇa consciousness is the easiest process of mystic power; when one is actually situated on that path of devotional service, he is able to control the mind. (S.B.3:25:26).prakṛtiḥ puruṣasyehadahyamānā tv ahar-niśamtiro-bhavitrī śanakairagner yonir ivāraṇiḥThe influence of material nature has covered the living entity, and thus it is as if the living entity were always in a blazing fire. But by the process of seriously discharging devotional service, this influence can be removed, just as wooden sticks which cause a fire are themselves consumed by it.(S.B.3:27:23).yadaivam adhyātma-rataḥkālena bahu-janmanāsarvatra jāta-vairāgyaābrahma-bhuvanān muniḥWhen a person thus engages in devotional service and self-realization for many, many years and births, he becomes completely reluctant to enjoy any one of the material planets, even up to the highest planet, which is known as Brahmaloka; he becomes fully developed in consciousness.(S.B.3:27:27).mad-guṇa-śruti-mātreṇamayi sarva-guhāśayemano-gatir avicchinnāyathā gańgāmbhaso 'mbudhaulakṣaṇaḿ bhakti-yogasyanirguṇasya hy udāhṛtamahaituky avyavahitāyā bhaktiḥ puruṣottameThe manifestation of unadulterated devotional service is exhibited when one's mind is at once attracted to hearing the transcendental name and qualities of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who is residing in everyone's heart. Just as the water of the Ganges flows naturally down towards the ocean, such devotional ecstasy, uninterrupted by any material condition, flows towards the Supreme Lord. (S.B.3:29:11-12).mahatāḿ bahu-mānenadīnānām anukampayāmaitryā caivātma-tulyeṣuyamena niyamena caThe pure devotee should execute devotional service by giving the greatest respect to the spiritual master and the ācāryas. He should be compassionate to the poor and make friendship with persons who are his equals, but all his activities should be executed under regulation and with control of the senses. (S.B.3:29:17).
