Odisha: Rituals for ensuing Debasnana Purnima, Rath Yatra finalised

Puri: The Chhatisha Nijog, a body of senior servitors of the Shree Jagannath Temple here, on Thursday gave its final approval on the timings of the rituals for the ensuing Debasnana Purnima and Rath Yatra.
The meeting, presided over by Chief Administrator of Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) Arabinda Padhee, finalised the schedule for the rituals of these two major festivals as per the suggestions by the representatives of the Chhatisha Nijog.
The meeting also approved the timing of the other rituals of the deities that include Nabajauban Darshan, Hera Panchami, Sandhya Darshan, Bahuda Yatra, Suna Vesha, Adharapana Lagi and Niladri Bije.
As scheduled, the temple servitors would begin the ritual of the three deities at 4 am on June 13, the Debasnana Purmina. This would be followed by Jala Bije and bathing rituals of the Lords that would be performed between 9.30 am and 11.30 am.
The Hati Besha of the deities would be held between 12.30 pm and 3 pm. The servitors would later take the deities on Pahandi to Anabasara Griha between 10.30 pm and 1 pm.
The meeting also finalised the ritual timings of the Rath Yatra on June 29. The Pahandibije of the deities for the chariots would be performed by 9.30 am while the pulling of the chariots would begin at 3 pm.
Among others, the district Collector and SP, representatives of all sections of the temple servitors were present at the meeting.
