Srila Prabhupada: “Jayananda’s death is glorious. It is very good that he had stated, what is the use of such a useless body, better to give it up. He has left his body very wonderfully, and he has been transferred to Vaikuntha. I have already sent a condolence letter for publication in Back To Godhead. Everyone should follow the example of Jayananda. I am very proud that I had such a nice disciple. If possible Jayananda’s picture should be hung in the Ratha of Lord Jagannatha, and in all of ou

Dear Oakwood High School Classmates and Friends,
I want to tell you about my Christmas vacation trip to Durban, South Africa. This letter is about one of our classmates, Jim Kohr.
While in Durban on December 29 and 30, 1989, I attended each day the Hare Krishna Festival of the Chariots being held on the beachfront. To give you an idea of the size of the festival, they fed 52,000 plates of food on the first day. It was vegetarian food an
Jayananda would often show a playful mood. He wasn’t just all work and no play. He would often say things and do things that reminded us that service to Krishna was fun and spontaneous, and just as Krishna has an amazing sense of humor, so do His devotees have a lively sense of humor.
There’s an old-time devotee here in New Vrindavan, very nice devotee, named Brikasanga das. As Jayananda had many devotees who assisted him, sort of being like Jayananda’s sidekicks, like Murli-Krishna and Indrana
On auspicious occasion of Sri Narsimha Chaturdashi we are planning to offer Narsimha Yagna for welfare of You and Your family.
Lord Narasimha Dev: The Transcendental Protector -
One of the most awe-inspiring of Lord Krishna's forms is Sri Nrisimhadeva, His half-man, half-lion incarnation. Lord Nrisimha descended to protect His devotee Sri Prahlada Maharaja from the atheistic king Hiranyakashipu, Prahlada's father.

Srila Prabhupada explains the importance of chanting 16 rounds of the Hare Krishna Mantra every day and how Krishna protects you.
By Nanda Kumar Dasa ACBSP who was Srila Prabhupada’s personal servant in the early years of ISKCON.
From the time I took initiation from Srila Prabhupad in Los Angeles in June of 1969, I was blessed to be able to keep my vow of chanting 16 rounds a day for some time.
Then not long after becoming Srila Prabhupad’s cook and personal servant, I missed doing 16 rounds fo

Food For All devotees have been joined in a massive community effort by volunteers from all walks of life across London to prepare, pack and distribute over 5,000 meals every day, 6 days a week, serving at 17 distribution points around the city.
Food For All’s unique open-door policy, which encourages non-devotee volunteers to assist in preparing Krishna-prasadam in a welcoming atmosphere, has proved highly successful in enabling the charity to rapidly scale up its operation. With l
The act of God punishing the demons denotes
His way of purifying our negative qualities.
“Is there a demon within me!?” It’s hard to believe it. One may think, “After all, I am neither a demon nor haunted by a ghost.” Yes! we are not ghostly, but godly. But its a fact that negative personality traits that are commonly found in demons are also sometimes found in common people. A responsible person diligently detects them in oneself and tries to eradicate them with determination and devotion.
An address to members of the International Network of Women and Religion (INWAR) at their headquarters in New York City.
I’ll begin by defining two words: Vaishnava and women. A Vaishnava is a devotee of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, more personally known as Vishnu or Krishna. In India this term is quite common, and there are millions who follow the path of Vaishnavism. Ultimately, Vaishnava refers to the natural state of the soul, since all living beings are constitutionally related to G

As some of you know I have mainly been recycling older blogs and slightly modifying them to represent some of my current struggles in my treatment protocols. With this offering I am writing afresh, having to discontinue my treatment due to the lockdown here in Vrindavana, though I present similar themes to what I teach as a result of facing possible death for the last 4 ½ years as well as intense headaches and other pains for the last year. I still consider personal or horizon
Today marks the auspicious appearance day of a very great female personality, namely Sita Devi, the consort of Lord Ram. Sita Devi, one of the most prominent personalities in the great epic Ramayan, is an epitome of pure love and devotion and an exemplary chaste wife. Her character and her pastimes set a great example and high standards for all women in today’s world, whether in the role of a daughter, wife, mother or in fact in any role at all. It also shows the strength pure hearted women can
Sita devi, the wife of Lord Rama, was not born in the normal way, but of the Earth Goddess, Bhumi devi herself. In Maharishi Valmiki’s own words, Ramayana is known as the noble story of Sita — “Sita-Ayah Caritam Mahat”.
Janaka Maharaj, the king of Mithila, was ploughing a piece of land to prepare it for conducting a yajna. While ploughing, he unearthed a golden casket in which he found a beautiful girl, which caused him to be greatly overjoyed. Because land ploughed by the yoke is called ‘sita’
Dear Devotees,
Today was an important day in regards to my health situation, and I want to hereby clarify the situation, as I know many of you are concerned about it.
Biopsies and a PET Scan performed around March 5th showed clearly that there was some cancer in my prostate. Before a decision was made on a longer term course of action against it, I was given a special anti-cancer injection, the effect of which lasts 3 months, to stop the cancer growing until it was decided what to do. Such an injection usuall

Hansadutta Das, a Srila Prabhupada disciple, pioneer and ISKCON leader in the society’s early days, passed away due to pancreatic cancer on April 25th. He was on his farm in Northern California, surrounded by his three children, with Srila Prabhupada’s kirtan playing in the background.
Born in 1941, Hansadutta grew up in New York City and joined ISKCON in 1967, becoming initiated by Srila Prabhupada in May of that year. Under Prabhupada’s direction, he helped to spread the Hare Krishna moveme

Prayojanamanoddiśya mandopi na pravartate (even idiot does not act without purpose)
Mentally retarded fool sees the action he performs to have complete sense, though the sane people consider them as abnormal.
As we can witness at the present time, unfortunately, the mentality and motives of leaders and scientists drastically succumb to lower modes. What was unthinkable just a decade ago is nowadays propagated and sanctioned as a normal course of action, thus creating idiocratic society based on wh
