Daily number of rounds of Hare Krishna mahamantra.
When, where and how did you come into contact with the Hare Krishna Movement?
My studies in Hinduism began with the Divine Life Society web site around 20 years ago. I never had the privilege to live near an ISKCON group or temple or any other Hinduism-related group. At that time, the Internet wasn't as robust as it is now. I am delighted to find so many resources to study Hinduism. I also have a background in Buddhist studies hence, the name Konchog Yonten Zangpo for my email. Despite my studies in Buddhis, Hinduism, especially as taught through the Bhagavad Gita translation by His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada resonates strongly with me in the spiritual path I seek. I have degrees in Transformational Psychology and am completing a degree in Metaphysical Science. I'm seeking help to increase the depth of my spiritual path and practice in Hinduism.
Name the nearest or most frequently Visited ISKCON temple/ centre and name few of the devotees whom you know.
I do not live near any temple or centre. I am hopeful that there will be an online opportunity available for study and interaction with other devotees. I am unable to find any ISKCON activity in the country where I live.
Please describe yourself so that other like minded devotees can find you.
I seek to understand, to the extent possible, the "ultimate" truth to define, sustain, and promote personal growth and development so that I might best take advantage of the opportunities of this life. Through my studies in metaphysical topics and personal experience I have learned that "reality" is not completely deterministic, that body senses often deceive, the ego is an impressive element to tame, that there is an important transcendental spiritual element to life.
What are your expectations from this community?
