Thought Of The Day

The modern civilization is that "Eat, drink, be merry and enjoy. Do not care for what is future life." That is condemned civilization. We should know that there is future life, there is birth after death, and we must be prepared.

Preaching of the Hare Krishna Maha-Mantra

Thakura Haridasa in Hari-nama-cintamani:
nija nija bole jiva paya bhakti;
bhakti labhibare sakalera nahi sakti.
"Those who get a chance to render devotional service by chanting of the Hare  Krishna Maha-mantra do so because of their good fortune generated by previous  pious activities (sukrti).  Thus it is not possible for everyone to take up this process."
sukrti-janera bhakti drdha koribare;

Mahamantra yoga contd.

The word 'sraddha' (faith) in the above verse means 'sraddhabhasa' (the partial presence of faith).   And why not?  when faith is directed  to the Lord alone and not to the Lord's devotees, such faith is  called 'chaya' (shadow) or pratibimba (reflection).  That is the faith of ordinary materialistic  people.  It is not the spiritual faith of pure devotional service.  Because a bhaktabhasa (a person  who is partially a devotee) has faith and worship that are material (prakrta) in nature, a bhakt

Maha-mantra Yoga

Srila Prabhuapada in the "Nectar of Devotion":

"When a
mantra or hymn is chanted softly (but audibly) and slowly, that is called japa.  The same  mantra, when chanted loudly is called kirtana.  For example, the Maha-mantra (Hare Krishna, Hare  Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare/Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare) when uttered very softly (but audibly) only for one's own hearing is called japa.  The same mantra, when chanted loudly for being heard by all others is called kirtana.  The Mah

Loud Chanting Of Sixty-Four Rounds

Loud chanting of sixty-four rounds (100,000 Names) of the Hare Krishna Maha-mantra daily is the  most powerful and recommended way to chant constantly.

The perfection of life is to attain the level of
Laksesvara from Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu Himself!

In Sri Caitanya-bhagavata, Antya-khanda 9.121-122, Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu instructed everyone on  whose worship and service He will accept:
prabhu bale, "jana 'laksesvara' bali kare?
prati-dina laksa-nama ye grahana kare". (121)
"Do you know who is a l

The Ten Offenses Of The Hare Krishna Maha-mantra

The ten offenses in chanting the Hare Krishna Maha-mantra must be given up to achieve success in the  chanting process.  They are described in the Padma Purana, Brahma Khanda 25.15-18
satam ninda namnah paramam aparadham vitanute
yatah khyatim yatam katham u sahate tad-vigarham
"To blaspheme the great saintly persons who are engaged in preaching the glories of the  Hare Krishna Maha-mantra is the worse offense at the lotus feet of the Holy Name.  One  should not criticize a preacher of the glories

The Meaning of The Hare Krishna Maha-mantra

Srila Prabhupada in Teachings of Lord Kapila, the Son of Devahuti, Chapter 14:

"Caitanya Mahaprabhu teaches us that we should only beg God for His service life after life.  This is the  actual meaning of the Hare Krishna Maha-mantra.  When we are chanting Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna,  Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare/Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare, we are actually addressing God and His energy, Hara.  Hara is Krishna's internal potency, Srimati Radharani or Lakshmi.  Jaya Radhe!  This is

2514856668?profile=originalIn May 2011, Captain Pratima Dharm was appointed as the US Military’s first Hindu Chaplain. The move was groundbreaking for the 1,000 or so Hindus serving in the US military, as well as their families, who until then had lacked a military confidant who understood their religion and culture.

In a broader sense, it’s also significant for the one billion people around the world under the broad banner of ‘Hinduism,’ or as Chaplain Dharm prefers to put it, ‘Sanatan Dharma,’ including ISKCON devotees.

We were really fortunate to have the invaluable association of our beloved Guru Maharaj in Chennai from 12.02.2003 to 16.02.2003. Maharaj flooded the parched land of Madras with his nectarean Krsna katha. With His blessings, I shall share with you the nectarean instructions as far as my intelligence allows.

Maharaj was telling that wherever there is Krsna-katha or Krsna Kirtan, Krsna is personally p
