The IPL Fever

IPL has been the latest fever

Keeping everyone busier than ever

Man and woman, young and old

All were game for this pot of gold.

TV channels were busy with TRP ratings

Teams were busy anticipating and speculating

The game was spinning real big money

That was sweeter than the sweetest honey.

Children skipped their playtime

Housewives shortened their kitchen time

Men were constantly meditating on the game

Hoping their team would clinch the game.

And look what was the end result of this game?

Batter-coated Mashed Potato balls

Batter-coated-Mashed-Potato-balls.jpg

This finger food is popular as the focal point of a late afternoon Tiffin or as the savory part of a late night supper. The ginger-flavored mashed potatoes are dipped in an herbed chickpea flour batter and deep-fried into golden globes. One note of caution: be sure to thoroughly coat the balls with batter; expressed areas of mashed potatoes tend to splatter and disintegrate in the hot oil.

Preparation and frying time (after assembling ingredients): about ½ hour

Lord Maha Vishnu - Story of Garuda

Hare Krsna

Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Srila Prabhupada...

Vishnu's divine vehicle is Garuda, a giant eagle, often depicted as having a human body and senses and bird-like forehead, wings, beak and nails. He wears a crown on his head like his master, Vishnu. His stature in Hindu religion can be gauged by the fact that an independent Upanishad, the Garudopanishada, and a Purana, the Garuda Purana, is devoted to him. Various names have been attributed to Garuda - Chirada, Gagan

The demigods are pleased when sacrifices are performed, just as prison officers are satisfied when the prisoners are turned into obedient subjects. Lord Caitanya, however, has recommended only one yajna, or sacrifice, called the sankirtana-yajna, the chanting of Hare Krishna, in which everyone can take part. (Srimad-Bhagavatam, 1.6.20 Purport)

If a person does not cry or exhibit bodily changes after chanting Hare Krishna

Thought Of The Day

Guru means one who has seen the Absolute Truth. That is guru. Tattva-darsinah, tattva means the Absolute Truth, and darsinah, one who has seen. So this movement, our Krsna consciousness movement, is for this purpose, to see the Absolute Truth, to understand the Absolute Truth, to know the problems of life and how to make a solution. Reading is an Extension of Hearing

Hare Krsna
