More than 70 lakh people from different parts of the world visit Mayapur, the birth place of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. However, this year, the global pandemic cast a  spell of gloom on the devotees, pilgrims and visitors all over the world, who come in search of spiritual enlightment and to submerge in the blissful ocean of Harinama Sankirtan.

After nearly 90 days of closure, people will again get the opportunity to have darshan and worship Sri Sri Radha Madhava and astasakhis, Sri Sri Panca tattva, Sri Prahlad Nrisimha, as the much anticipated  gates of Sri Mayapur Chandrodaya temple, the world headquarter of ISKCON, will be opened for devotees, pilgrims and visitors from Sunday, 5th July onwards. However, to implement precautionary measures few restrictions have been imposed.

The  timings of  darshan for the visitors will be only between 9am to 7pm. Visitors will have to enter through the ISKCON Mayapur Main gate or through Gammon gate for vehicles. All the vehicles will be sanitised at the Gammon gate.. All the visitors will go through a screening process, where the body temperatures will be checked using Infrared thermometers and then the visitors will pass through a sanitisation gate, before entering the temple campus. It will be ensured that the visitors are properly wearing masks at all times within the campus. A proper system for crowd control has been set up  to maintain social distancing among the visitors, along with separate entry and exit gates. Visitor movement inside the campus will be monitored by CCTV cameras.  The temple premises, restaurants, toilets  will be sanitised frequently throughout the day.  To facilitate the visitors free prasadam will be distributed in the afternoon for a month.

“Since safety of our devotees and visitors is most important for  us we  took a bit of extra time to open the gates and wanted to ensure we have enough  equipments and proper infrastructure to implement the precautionary measures” informed Sri Madhava Gauranga Das, Vice Chairman of Mayapur Administrative Council.  The ISKCON Mayapur management is in constant touch with local administration and will abide by all the rules and regulations.
