A second Vivek, who owns and runs Karma Café, took me to a Burrito restaurant in Saskatoon, which is now a commercial chain in the province.  It is a father and son business which arranged to accommodate my vegetarian needs.  During the lunch, I sat and chatted for an hour with this dynamic duo who happen to be Gujaratis from Surat, India.  I was impressed by their efforts to promote the plant-based diet (for the most part).  The ahimsa concept is very firmly held onto by these gentlemen.

And since it is Gandhi's birthday (and he happened to also be of Gujarati descent), Vivek and I moved on for a great walk along the Saskatchewan River, a peaceful few moments.  We came upon a circular structure, The Reconciliation Circle, in honour of the abused native peoples of the past.  Vivek and I stood under it, and then turned clockwise in a pose of rejoicing to honour a moment of meditative resolve.  Affixed to the sculptor piece are hundreds of chimes, ringing sweet vibes, encouraged by the wind.  We also felt comfort in a decorative pagoda.  https://www.instagram.com/p/B3KKrD2AOYY/?igshid=hhku1scd9rp5

"Peace!" or as the Vedas say, "Shanti!"

A kirtan was held at Vivek Joshi's home. Some local people thrived on the sound, and also delighted in hearing about the less-peaceful story of "The killing of the Aghasura Demon."  Indeed, when Krishna was young, He performed the heroic task of annihilating demonic forces.  We completed our evening sangha with, once again, burritos.  It looks like Gujaratis really like Mexican food.
