Sad news - Passing away of His Grace Aindra Prabu - Blog - ISKCON Desire Tree

We just got sad news from Vrindavan that His Grace Aindra prabhu suddenly left his body in Vrindavan few hours back.

There was an accidental gas leak in his room in Vrindavan causing a blast which caused 100 percent burns.

He was scheduled to do his regular dressing today morning of Sri Sri Radha Shyamsundar, ISKCON Vrindavan.

Devotees all around the world would very much miss this great devotee & kirtan singer.

His appearance day was celebrated this year on Papamocani Ekadasi, 12th of March 2010. He spend his last 25 years in ISKCON Vrindavan inspiring millions.

About His Grace Aindra Prabhu

H.G. Aindra Prabhu received harinama-diksa in 1973 from A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami

Prabhupada in Washington D.C. For many years, he was serving as a pujari at the temple

and was regularly going out on harinama-sankirtana and book distribution in that area.

After several visits to Sri Vrindavan dhama, he then got the inspiration within his heart to re-

inaugurate the 24hour-kirtana which had originally been established by Srila Prabhupada in

1975 at the Krishna-Balarama Mandir.

In 1986, Aindra Prabhu came to settle down in Vrindavan dhama and has been co-ordinating

and guiding this 24hour-kirtana since! Not only is he inspiring the local devotees and

numerous visitors with his daily kirtanas, but his wonderful recordings spread the mellow of

Sri Vrindavan dhama all over the planet.

Today also happens to be disappearance day of Sri Vakresvara Pandita.

The source of transcendental inspiration for holy name for the devotees worldwide have left this material world and joined the eternal kingdom of Sri Radha & Krsna....His surrender to Srila Prabhupada by fulfilling the desires of spreading the Sankirtan yajna will give strength n inspirations to be fixed on the path of Krsna Consciousness to devotees. Its a great loss to Vaishnava Community.......

Really very sad news. I was very much inspired by HG Aindra Prabhu's kirtans. I visited Shri Vrindavan Dhama in May'10 & interacted with Him. I prayed to Him to pray to Sri Sri Radha Shyam Sunder for improvement in my chanting. HG Aindra Prabhu was a pioneer in Sankirtana Movement. My prayers to Sri Sri Radha Shyam Sunder for Him. The void created by his sudden departure will be very difficult to fill in coming times.

In my early time of Iskcon, in eighties, I am very much admired by Aindra Prabhu's bhajans. Since then I also started learning to sing bhajans. We, in fact I feel personally the lose of a great Singer of Bhajans. Srila Prabhupada Glorified him many times. But he is ever living in the hearts of all devotees. He joined the group in Goloka Vrndavana of which there is no doubt to please Krishna personally.
