Sri Nrisimha Caturdasi festival is one of the most magnificent festival celebrated in Sri Mayapur. Sri Sthanu Nrisimhadeva in Mayapur is the most worshipable and dear deity for many around the world ,as the supremely merciful Lord in Mayapur continues to manifest His wonderful pastimes protecting devotees worldwide.

At no other time in modern history has the protection of the Supreme Personality of Godhead for His devotees been needed as now. Due to the worldwide Corona virus pandemic temples have been shut down, projects have come to a standstill, Harinam sankirtana has stopped, book distribution has halted, and so much more. And, even more disturbing is devotees have unfortunately passed away. This is all lamentable and out of anyone’s control. In such a situation we can only call on the Lord for help.

Lord Nrsimha is the protector of the devotees and the destroyer of evil and darkness. He is also very favorable to the devotees of the sankirtan movement of Lord Caitanya because their lives are dedicated to preaching His divine name and glories throughout the world at all costs.

This year Nrisimha Caturdasi will be special as we will collectively appeal to the Lord , offering Him a grand Sudarshana Yajna and Harinam Yajna, where everyone can take part from anywhere in the world and perform their offering in this Yajna on the most special day of Lord Narasimha.

The Sudarshana Yajna is a very special one. Sudarshana, the divine discus of Lord Vishnu, is invoked along with Lord Nrsimha for the attainment of success in a particular undertaking and for protection from negative forces.

The homa is accomplished with a fire yajna, offerings of Tulasi leaves to the Lord, and recitation of the Purusha Sukta, and the Sudarshana yantra, a copper disc with special sacred symbols is bathed 108 times with the Sudarshana mantras for empowerment and then offered darpan (bath water) from the purified water of kalashes.

To participate we request that you make a vrata (vow) to chant a specific number of extra daily rounds of the Hare Krishna mantra between now and May 5th (India time) for this purpose. Email us at info@mayapur.com or tovpinfo@gmail.com , or WhatsApp to +91 9733578071 (WhatsApp only) the number of rounds you have chanted till May 5th.  Your name will be chanted as part of the offering infused into the water of the bathing kalashes, and then recited again during the darpan (yantra bathing) by the Brahmins performing the yajna.

You shall receive the Raksha Sutra (sacred thread, that is wrapped in Yajna Kalasha) and ‘Yajna Raksha’ ( i.e. the ashes dust from the yajna) along with Tulasi leaves mailed to you.  (Will be sent after the lockdown period is over and to address within India).

"I offer my respectful obeisances unto Lord Nrisimhadeva, the source of all power. O my Lord who possesses nails and teeth just like thunderbolts, kindly vanquish our demon-like desires for fruitive activity in this material world. Please appear in our hearts and drive away our ignorance so that by Your mercy we may become fearless in the struggle for existence in this material world." (Srimad-Bhagavatam, 5.18.8)
