We have devotees chanting from around 770 locations. Thank you for joining us and for chanting with us. Are you enjoying this? Oh congratulations! You are enjoying it? Are you happy? Yes, Caitanya? Everybody? Harinama Cintamani? You are Harinama Cintamani as your name suggests. Harinama is like Cintamani, are you enjoying chanting? You are not able to hear me? Sakhi Vrinda, are you happily chanting? Keep chanting. We want you to relish the chanting.
vayaṁ tu na vitṛpyāma
uttama-śloka-vikrame
yac-chṛṇvatāṁ rasa-jñānāṁ
svādu svādu pade pade
Translation
We never tire of hearing the transcendental pastimes of the Personality of Godhead, who is glorified by hymns and prayers. Those who have developed a taste for transcendental relationships with Him relish hearing of His pastimes at every moment.( SB 1.1.19)
The Lord’s holy name is sweet. The Lord Himself is sweet, so why not His names? Everything about the Lord is sweet. He is our sweet, sweet Lord. We want to experience this sweetness of the Lord. This is called Krishna consciousness. It is the realisation of the Lord by hearing and chanting.
Sri Krsna Caitanya Mahaprabhu appeared as a devotee.
pañca-tattvātmakaṁ kṛṣṇaṁ
bhakta-rūpa-svarūpakam
bhaktāvatāraṁ bhaktākhyaṁ
namāmi bhakta-śaktikam
Translation
I offer my obeisances unto the Supreme Lord, Kṛṣṇa, who is nondifferent from His features as a devotee, devotional incarnation, devotional manifestation, pure devotee, and devotional energy. (CC Adi 1.14)
Sri Krsna Caitanya Mahaprabhu also relished the holy name. When you eat food, first you chew it to break it down, and then it mixes with the juice and then you relish its taste. You also get energy from this. But the nectar of Harinama is not like this. It is not a one time relishing experience. It is like meditating again and again. People in the world try to take pleasure in sense gratification like sex, this enjoyment, that enjoyment and entertainment. They keep doing it again and again. But our interest is different. The object of our thoughts, mind and interest is Krsna and while chanting Krsna’s name, we repeat and relish it. Like that we become free from all other attractions and we become detached. You may call it study or homework. Now it is our daily homework.
Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu Himself wanted to relish Krsna’s holy name. He wanted to enjoy Krsna, Krsna’s names, Krsna’s association, enjoy the pleasure of darsana, enjoy the pleasure of honouring prasada, pleasure of hearing His pastimes. This is Krsna’s bliss.

Simultaneously Sri Krsna Caitanya Mahaprabhu relished this bliss of Krsna and He also distributed it. He has given Harinama to everyone. Vrindavan Dhama is ‘Madhurya Dhama’. Navadvipa Mayapur Dhama is ‘Audarya Dhama’. He relished love (madhurya) of Vrindavan in Mayapur and also generously distributed it to everyone. Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu became very generous, so He is ‘Mahavadanyay’.
namo maha-vadanyaya
krishna-prema-pradaya te
krishnaya krishna-chaitanya-
namne gaura-tvishe namah
Translation
O most munificent incarnation! You are Krishna Himself appearing as Sri Krishna Caitanya Mahaprabhu. You have assumed the golden color of Srimati Radharani, and You are widely distributing pure love of Krishna. We offer our respectful obeisances unto You. (Gauranga Mahaprabhu Pranam mantra)
As He became very generous, the name of the Dhama is ‘Audarya Dhama’. Mayapur Navadvipa Dhama is known as Audarya Dhama. Sri Krsna Caitanya Mahaprabhu preached Krsna’s holy name in Mayapur and He said:
Prithi vite acche yata nagaradi gram. Sarvatra pracara haibe more nama.”
Translation
My name will be chanted in every town and village on the earth. (Caitanya-bhāgavata Antya 4.126)
He preached the holy names of Krsna by being merciful. This way He shared Krsna and Krsna’s name with others. Sri Krsna Caitanya Mahaprabhu established such a benchmark in front of the world. Caitanya Mahaprabhu gave the responsibility of preaching the holy names outside India to Srila Prabhupada. Prabhupada has said this and Prabhupada fulfilled his responsibility.
In 1965 Srila Prabhupada started his journey to America and on 17 September 1965 Srila Prabhupada reached New York, America. By travelling 14 times around the world he became ‘ Jet age Parivajkachraya’. He preached the holy name of Caitanya Mahaprabhu and Radha Krsna everywhere where he travelled.

This way Srila Prabhupada distributed the holy name everywhere by being merciful and generous.
From 1996 every year we are celebrating a World Holy Name Festival. Initially it was World Holy Name Day. We arranged special preaching activities on 17 September, the day when Srila Prabhupada entered America. Srila Prabhupada is the Ambassador of the holy name. Gradually it became World Holy Name Week. Now we celebrate World Holy name week every year.
This year’s holy name festival is now only a month away. From today we are starting the campaign to promote World Holy Name Week. All of you are the privileged recipients of this announcement because you are lovers of Harinama. This is our team. We all come together and chant Harinama and do japa talk. We decided to begin the campaign with kirtana and Harinama lovers like you. You are the first ones. You have been selected.
Recently in the Mayapur festival ISKCON, the GBC has established a new ministry, ’Harinama Sankirtana Ministry’. I have been made minister of this ministry. Every year we celebrate this World Holy Name Festival, but this year it will be celebrated by the World Holy Name ministry. Will you all like to join us? We would like agents, representatives.
Now I am going to request Ekalavya Prabhu. He is secretary to the minister or ministry. We have already planned many events for this year’s celebration. Now Ekalavya Prabhu will announce everything in English and Padmamali Prabhu will translate it in Hindi. Listen carefully and understand it and note it down. Because you have to work accordingly and represent it.

The theme for this year’s Holy Name Festival is Let’s make the world fortunate. ISKCON Harinam Sankirtan Ministry has been formed and Guru Maharaja is the Minister.
ISKCON Harinam Sankirtan Ministry presents the World Holy Name Festival. The World Holy Name Festival is a global festival. It is for everyone – all ISKCON Centres, namahattas , Bhakti vrikshas , your friends. It is not limited to ISKCON. Everyone is welcome to participate. The festival is from September 17 to 23. This is to commemorate Srila Prabhupada’s arrival in America on September 17, 1965. Thus brila Prabhupada is glorified as the Global Ambassador of World Holy Name. Guru Maharaja has personally given hours everyday for planning this festival. This year it will be very special. I am going to read to you to give some idea about this plan.
Everyday we are going to have four main programs.
Two days will have very special programs.
The main four programs that we will have are as follows:
1. At 5:00 pm IST we are going to have a Japa Retreat. Every day for seven days. We know devotees like Sacinandana Swami Maharaja, Bhurijana Prabhu conduct Japa retreats, sometimes extending it even for a week. Devotees get to relish their chanting.
Guru Maharaja contacted them and asked if we can have some short course or some contracted essence of Japa for the devotees around the world. They have agreed and they will give us a special experience of a Japa retreat. It will be given by seven speakers for seven days for one hour everyday. Some speakers have confirmed and some of them are pending. But you can get idea of the quality of speakers that Guru Maharaja is getting for this wonderful program. It’s not only Sacinandana Maharaja or Bhurijana Prabhu, but also Giriraja Swami Maharaja, Mahatma Prabhu, Urmila Mataji. Mahatma Prabhu is helping us to organise this program. This is the Japa retreat programme.
2. Then we will have Bhagawatam class everyday for seven days at 6:00 pm IST. Different verses about the glories of the holy name have been personally picked by Guru Maharaja. These are the speakers we are trying to get. Some have confirmed and some are pending – Bhanu Swami Maharaja, Indradyumna Swami Maharaja, Bhakti Vikas Swami Maharaja, Narayani Mataji, Gopal Krishna Swami Maharaja, Jayananda Maharaja, Jayadvaita Swami Maharaja, Niranjana Swami Maharaja, Lokanath Swami Maharaja and Bhakti Vijnana Swami Maharaja. You can see this is incredible. Guru Maharaja is going to get the most senior most and qualified disciples of Srila Prabhupada in the whole movement. That is about Srimad Bhagawatam class daily for seven days.
3. Then there will be a big kirtan at 7:00 pm IST. The kirtan singers will be as follows. Some have confirmed and some are pending. Bhakti Bringa Govind Swami Maharaja, Bhaktimarg Swami Maharaja, Agnidev Prabhu, Bhakti Vaibhav Swami Maharaja, Kadamba Kanana Swami Maharaja, Lokanath Swami Maharaja, Niaranjan Swami Maharaja.
That is from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm. IST.
4. At 8:00 o’clock we will have Harinama mahatmya lecture. Guru Maharaja is personally speaking with the speakers and personally picking the topics.

Anuttama Prabhu will speak about ‘Harinam in different fates or religions’.
There is a Nama Mahatmya program daily.
These are the four main programs daily – Japa retreat , Bhagawatam class, kirtans and nama mahatmaya
The other two will be whole day long. Global Kirtan Connect will be on Sunday 20 September. This program is for 24 hours and 24 time zones, 24 kirtaniyas.
The first kirtan will start in London UK at 12 noon.
Then the kirtan will move to the West to the next time zone toward America and will come to New York at 12 noon. Devotees will perform kirtan for one hour
The next time zone is Chicago or maybe somewhere in South America like Peru and they will do kirtan for one hour
Moving west to Los Angeles they will do kirtan for 1 hour .
Moving west to Alaska and they will do for one hour.
Move to Russia and they will do for one hour for different time zones in Russia.
Next time zone is Kazakhstan.
Indian devotees will do kirtan
Then moving over to Middle East ,Iran and then to Africa.
For 24 time zones this kirtan will move from one time zone to next all across the planet. This is the Global Kirtan Connect program and simultaneously , at a particular time wherever that time zone is, the local devotees will do a kirtan mela on zoom. For example, when the Global Kirtan Connect is in the UK, all the UK devotees will come online on zoom and do their own kirtan in their homes, office, parks and we will have hundreds of devotees doing kirtan at the same time.
On 20 of September that’s Sunday at 12 noon the program will be here in India. Yes, get ready for that day. You will do kirtan at your homes. If you can get your friends and go to temple if that is practical, and do your own kirtan program on zoom and get hundreds and thousands of devotees to chant and we will have so many kirtan programs that day. Then on the same day we are trying to have nagar sankirtana. Anywhere where the government is allowing nagar sankirtana and wherever it is practical, where it is safe we will encourage devotees to do nagar sankirtana on the streets or parks or wherever that they can go out. 20 September is a very busy day and also 4 main programs Japa retreat, Bhagawatam, Kirtan and Nama Mahatmya will also continue on this day.
On 23 September our grand finale will be a Japathon. We are trying to connect the entire world online in a massive zoom conference. May be we can break some Guinness book of World Records, and do some big japathon. Everyone will chant together all day long. Maybe you can chant 64 rounds or maybe more. Everyone has their own capacity. This will be great opportunity to have the association of devotees from all over the world for our japathon. Not to forget ,on this day also the same 4 programs, Japa retreat, Bhagawatam, Kirtan and Nama Mahatmya will continue. This entire week we will be promoting the ‘Fortunate people campaign’. We want people to chant the Hare Krsna maha-mantra one time on video. You make a video of yourself and upload it on our website. Then you find one of your friends or family members or co workers who is not chanting. We want you to make them fortunate, and get them to chant the Hare Krsna maha-mantra at least one once on video and then upload this on to our website. We want to get thousands of videos of new people chanting Hare Krsna. In book marathon we have book scores and now for World Holy Name week we are going to have nama scores. “Lets make the World fortunate”. Contact me if you want to help.
