Miracle in the Making is an awe-inspiring video shot by HG Prananatha Das depicting the rise of the Temple of the Vedic Planetarium (TOVP) in Mayapur, West Bengal, India – Future Wonder of the World – and the opening of its Nrsimhadeva Hall, the largest Nrsimhadeva Temple in the world, from February 29 – March 2, 2024.

At a time when turmoil, strife, and all the symptoms of Kali-yuga are at an all-time high within the world, we need to pray to Lord Nrsimhadeva for His intervention and protection to ensure the TOVP is completed timely, and the world draws towards true spiritual understanding and awakening. All devotees can benefit themselves and the entire human race by helping to build this remarkable temple, inspired and spearheaded by Srila Prabhupada himself. This temple’s influence will be heard worldwide once opened, and all who participate will receive eternal blessings from the Vaishnava Acharyas and Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu.
A soulful new single by gurukuli Hari Kirtan Kaufmann, featuring Lilashakti Sesanti and Vrindavan Favors, blends Krishnadasa Kaviraja Goswami’s Bengali bhajan “Sri Vraja Dhama Mahimamrta” with English spoken word poetry to deeply moving effect. The epic 9-minute track, with its strikingly artistic music video featuring performances from international devotee artists, captures the feeling of hankering after Vrindavan Dhama and devotee association during the pandemic, and the lifelong journey towards giving oneself completely to Lord Krishna.

Music has been a major part of Hari Kirtan’s life, and his spiritual journey, from a young age. He first started taking piano lessons at age 15 while attending New Vrindaban gurukula, then began learning guitar and joined his first band, Lifeforce, with other New Vrindaban gurukulis while living in Malaysia. Later, he played chart music with a cover band while touring Europe for many years, but became disenchanted with the mundanity of the experience.

“I didn’t touch my guitar for seven years,” he says. “It was actually doing kirtan that revived my interest in playing music and writing songs.”

Read more: https://iskconnews.org/stirring-new-song-when-will-i-see-you-again-blends-bhajan-and-spoken-word-2,8036/

Started in the mid-2000s, MayapurTV now hosts broadcasts by over 150 ISKCON centers, sannyasis and leading devotees, with 314,000 subscribers on YouTube. The channel inspires viewers and provides free access to ISKCON programs worldwide, all in one place.

The next step for MayapurTV Manager Antardwip Das is to establish different branches of MayapurTV for different languages. With nearly 500 million native Spanish speakers in the world, one of these, naturally, had to be Mayapur TV Español, started four months ago by the former Co-Director of Mayapur Institute Radhika Nagara Das.

Originally from Spain and now resident in Mayapur, Radhika Nagara explains that the purpose of the new channel is to make Krishna Katha accessible to Spanish-speaking people in every town and village through the Brihat Mridanga or “big drum” of the Internet.

“There are 500 million people speaking Spanish around the world,” Radhika Nagara says. “But we noticed that they have no real platform to go to where they have access to Bhagavatam classes, the glories of Sri Dhama Mayapur, interviews, webinars, and other resources to nourish their Krishna consciousness in Spanish.”

Mayapur TV Español soon built a small team including social media manager Chintamani Madhavi Devi Dasi, who lives in Chile. So far, the channel delivers its content via its YouTube, Facebook and Instagram pages, with a webpage still to come.

In a video released today featuring Gopal Krishna Goswami, Bhakti Charu Swami, and Jayapataka Swami, these three initiating gurus and senior members of ISKCON’s Governing Body Commission (GBC) explain why they support the GBC resolution empowering women to serve as initiating spiritual masters in ISKCON.

Watch the video here:

The resolution included under “701.6: ISKCON spiritual masters,” and entitled “Vaisnavi Diksa-gurus — 2019” was passed by the GBC at the Midterm General Meeting in October 2019. It was confirmed at the Annual General Meeting at ISKCON’s world headquarters in Mayapur, West Bengal, India in February 2020.

The resolution states that: “Whereas in 2009 the GBC Resolved:

1. The GBC accepts the philosophical conclusion presented in the SAC’s [Sastric Advisory Committee’s] Female Diksa Guru Paper that a mature, qualified, female devotee may accept the role of an initiating spiritual master.

2. The GBC Body authorizes local area committees to put forward for approval as initiating guru any devotee in their area, male or female, who is qualified according to existing GBC Law.

Whereas, since then, the GBC has worked to achieve consensus and implementation of this resolution;

Whereas after much study, dialogue, and research, the GBC has come to the following conclusion.

1. Vaisnavis are eligible to give diksa in ISKCON provided that they: a) Meet all the qualifications listed for ISKCON diksa-guru applicants; b) Are at least 55 years of age and in a stable family situation, living under the protection of a husband, elder son or son-in-law, qualified householder couple or senior Vaisnava or Vaisnavi sanga; c) Receive written permission from the appropriate regional body or its equivalent, or national council, to give diksa in that particular part of the world.

2. After five years the GBC shall review this resolution to determine if the number of Vaisnavis initiating in any region or as a total for the world is in keeping with Srila Prabhupada’s indication of ‘…not so many’.”

Dissenting voices among the GBC called for the resolution to be voted down, tabled, or amended at the 2020 AGM. The GBC decided not to amend the decision, but agreed to continue dialogue with other leaders – especially within India, where some had voiced opposition to the Vaishnavi diksa-guru decision – before any amendments are adopted.

Read more: https://iskconnews.org/senior-gbc-gurus-support-vaishnavi-diksa-gurus-in-new-video,7394/

The first annual UP Devotional Arts & Film Festival, which took place on March 8th at Srila Prabhupada’s Samadhi Auditorium in Mayapur, focused on screening music videos by devotee artists from around the world.

UP stands for “unpublished.” “Just as we don’t eat food we are about to offer to the Deities, we wanted to present a collective untouched offering to Srila Prabhupada, Pancha Tattva and Sri Sri Radha Madhava,” says organizer Gour Govinda Das, a Croatian devotee with 20 years of experience as a professional photographer and filmmaker.

The projects premiered at UP are selected by a group of professionals like Gour Govinda and co-organizer Hari Kirtan Kaufmann, with the intent to contribute to society’s upliftment by encouraging the spiritual, ethical and philanthropic development of the world at large.

The festival is also intended to explore and nourish creative expressions of devotion and share the aesthetics of spiritual culture.
