Krishna Lunch So Cal is a new creative outreach in southern California aimed at providing low-cost on-campus meals and meaningful connections to college-age students as food insecurity sharply rises.

“Beyond being a nutritious food hub while addressing food insecurity among students, we envision Krishna Lunch So Cal as a place where the students and other community members can come together, share thoughts, and build connections,” said Govinda Datta Dasa, founder of Krishna Lunch So Cal. “Nutritious food, good connection to the community and opportunities to give back to the community are being recognized worldwide as great formulas to a fulfilling life.”

Students will receive a nutritious vegetarian meal consisting of six items for a suggested donation of just $5. The truck will be available Monday-Friday, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., offering a different menu every day. It’s also strategically parked near a busy intersection across from the UCLA Medical Center on 900 Broxton Ave. “We’re not profit-motivated. We want to provide an inviting atmosphere where everyone can feel a sense of belonging,” Govinda Datta noted.

Read more: https://iskconnews.org/new-food-truck-at-ucla-to-address-food-insecurity-among-students/

Relaunch of the Namarasa Podcast Premiereshttps://iskcondesiretree.com/profiles/blogs/relaunch-of-the-namarasa-podcast-premieres2024-01-08T15:25:21.000Z2024-01-08T15:25:21.000ZISKCON Desire Treehttps://iskcondesiretree.com/members/iskcon_desire_tree

Namarasa Das is back after a one-year hiatus with a new season of in-person interviews. In 2018, Namarasa started “The Late Morning Program with Namarasa” podcast, which quickly gained in popularity because of its engaging host, wide variety of guests, and willingness to talk about a broad range of topics, including “hot button” issues. The return is good news for the thousands of devotee listeners who were missing the podcast during the break.

“In January 2023, I took a break because my daughter was born, and I wanted to be more focused as a father and a provider,” said Namarasa, who, along with his wife Tulasi, is raising three children. This hiatus gave him an opportunity to reflect upon what was so personally life-giving to him about this passion project.

During COVID, Namarasa shifted from in-person interviews to virtual exchanges, 140 in total. Though he explored many important and inspiring topics, he missed the dynamics of in-person conversations, which is the model of the revived and rebranded show now called “The Namarasa Podcast.”

This time off also gave him a chance to upgrade his equipment and studio. “We now have three cameras with switching angles,” he explained, “So devotees can look forward to better production and in-person interviews in 2024.”

Read more: https://iskconnews.org/the-relaunch-of-the-namarasa-podcast-premieres-today/

New Krishna House ashram opens in ISKCON Dallas!https://iskcondesiretree.com/profiles/blogs/new-krishna-house-ashram-opens-in-iskcon-dallas2023-04-18T22:03:51.000Z2023-04-18T22:03:51.000ZArjuna Penatehttps://iskcondesiretree.com/members/ArjunaPenate

The Krishna House Dallas ashram recently opened in East Dallas, across the street from the Sri Sri Radha Kalachandji temple. The ashram is following the successful formula of Krishna House Gainesville, which is renowned for bringing hundreds of people to Krishna Consciousness through its warm and accommodating mood. The Krishna House Dallas ashram is a co-ed ashram that provides a live-in experience for those who want to practice Bhakti. To live in the Krishna House you can be working or studying while paying some tuition, or you can be a full-time resident and be engaged in services like book distribution, restaurant services, temple cleaning, etc. For all residents, both paying tuition and for full-time residents the morning program (starting at 5:45 am) is mandatory. This ashram experience proves to be invaluable for the long-term practice of Krishna Consciousness.
The Krishna House has new facilities, and can eventually house up to 18 devotees in both the men's and women's ashram. The Krishna House curriculum has a morning Bhagavatam class as well as a Bhakti Sastri course 4 days a week. Students can learn kirtan, cooking, sastra, and more!
