Finding What We Have Lost

Sometimes when we lose something which is very valuable and necessary for us, such as our wallet, it becomes such a great disturbance that our entire consciousness becomes absorbed in finding that missing thing. For example, even while eating we may think of that missing thing instead of our meal. Or we may awaken in the morning to find ourselves wondering where is that missing valuable as the only thing worth thinking about.

In the same way we should…

How Demigods Can Be Mortals?

Question:  How Demigods Can Be Mortals?

You have stated that the demigods are mortals like us. How can you confirm this when there is so much difference between the demigods and ourselves?  How can you say that they…

How to approach the Holy Dham

Hare Krishnai,

Please accept my humble obeisances.

All gloris to Srila Prabhupada.

It is a wonderful opportunity to go to Vrindavan dham! Asking the devotees how to approach the holy Dham..this is a really strong example to everyone.

The fact is that one cannot enter into the Holy Dham simply by purchasing a ticket, as Srila Gurudeva Sankarshan Das Adhikari says: The Dham is not so much a place that is materially accessible but actually a state of consciousness…

Complete Purification by Devotional Service

Another example given in Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam concerns the elephant who

enters into a lake and takes a bath very seriously, cleansing his body

thoroughly. Then as soon as he comes onto shore he again takes some

dust from the earth and throws it over his body. Similarly, a person

who is not trained in Kṛṣṇa consciousness cannot become completely

free from the desire for sinful activities. Neither the yoga process

nor philosophical speculations nor fruitive activities can…

The Grateful Taste the Lord's Sweet Love

The basic problem plaguing and torturing the modern human society is that we lack gratitude. We do not know how to live gratefully. We do not feel duty bound to reciprocate with the unlimited kindness that Krishna or God is giving us at every minute. We have no qualms about taking as much sense gratification as want. But…

Jaya-gopala: If we are on the street and collecting money and we are

Jaya-gopala: But if we…

Prabhupada: Yes, yes, you should be proud, you should feel proud: “I am

working for Krsna very nicely.” (laughter) We don’t reject anything. Even

Perfect education

If simply we understand that “Krsna is the Supreme Person. He is great, and

we are all subordinate. So our duty is to serve Krsna,” these two lines, if

we understand, then our life is perfect. If we simply learn how to worship

Krsna, how to please Him, how to dress Him nicely, how to give Him nice

foodstuff, how to decorate Him with ornaments and flowers, how to offer our

respectful obeisances unto Him,… Continue

Tugboats of Maya

Posted on August 27, 2011

While walking along the waterfront, we saw an oceanliner being pulled along

by a tugboat. When the big ships enter the harbor, they have to turn off

their engines and get parked. Observing this, Srila Prabhupada said, ‘Just

see: this ship is very, very big, but it is pulled by a little boat.

Similarly, when we turn off our Krsna consciousness, we get pulled away by

Scrap the Slaughter House Policy

Campaign against slaughter houses in U.P.

Posted on May 4, 2011 by Sampadak

How you can support us?

“Scrap the Slaughter House Policy”

Dear All,

With the U. P. Government is giving licenses to new abattoirs in the state, there’s simply no way that we can ignore the cries of the Lakhs of innocent animals who fall victim to this barbaric cruelty and mass butchering. All the proposed ultra modern slaughter houses will have capacity to butcher…

At least Krishna appeared in Mysore

Exactly 365 days ago there were nearly 10 Devotees in whole Mysore who used regularly chant the Holy Names and attend the Sunday Programs. Even among them only 5 were real residents, others were comers.

Disciples of His Holiness Jayapataka Swami Maharaja His Grace Ananda Dham Prabhu (from Mumbai) and his good wife Vijayakamala Mataji (from Madurai) settled in a rented room in Mysore, just to organize here preaching programs. With the financial help of other Devotees they…

If God really exists, then show me God!

Hare Krsna!

If you ever speak to an atheist, they will often say, “If God really exists, then show me God.” How do we reply to that?

The answer is that we cannot see God with our material senses. He is spiritual, and our senses our material. Just like you cannot measure someone’s body temperature with a tape measure (a tape measure is for measuring length), so similarly you cannot “see” God with your material eyes. You need spiritual eyes.

And even if we could bring God…

Release from Three Modes of Material Nature

The 3 gunas are sometimes compared to 3 ropes, twisted together to

make one very strong rope, a rope that binds the conditioned living

being to material existence. Bhagavad-gita Chapter14 describes the

effect of the 3 modes, but it also describes how the modes can STOP

acting: when one undeviatingly engages in devotional service unto

Krishna, avyabhicari-bhakti.

BG 14.26: One who engages in full devotional service, unfailing in all

circumstances, at once…
