This blog is in response to an article I read that was pointed to out me by a friend. Prior to reading this article, I understood that Aspartame was not healthy for you, and some dairy groups are petitioning the FDA to allow Aspartame to be inserted in milk. But it doesn’t end there: There have been a significant amount of reports on the harms of Aspartame, and the evidence mounting against it is overwhelming.
Here is the case of a woman named Rhonda who’s sister almost died from drinking diet soda.
In October of 2001, Rhonda wrote an article about how her sister was “very sick” and she was having symptoms, such as “stomach spasms,” and “she was having a hard time getting around.”
Early in 2002, Rhonda’s sister “had undergone several tissue and muscle biopsies and was on 24 various prescription medications. The doctors could not determine what was wrong with her. She was in so much pain, and so sick she just knew she was dying.” The doctor’s couldn’t find anything conclusive on the tests but believed she had MS. Rhonda’s sister ended up losing her ability to walk and was confined to a wheelchair.
Rhonda recalled an article that a “friend” sent her which prompted her to ask her sister if she drank diet soda. As she was talking to her on the phone, her sister was about to “crack one open that moment.” Rhonda told her “not to open it” and to “stop drinking the diet soda!”
Within 32 hours, Rhonda’s sister could walk again and the muscle spasms went away. Her doctor was “amazed.” This just goes to show that even licensed professionals in medicine (doctors) don’t always have the answers; we need to learn about and listen to our own bodies, as we are all unique in our bodily functions. We need to be aware of our habits and daily routines, and how substances affect us.
It was found that Rhonda’s sister had suffered from Aspartame poisoning.
In the article, Rhonda explains why Aspartame is so dangerous:
“When the temperature of this sweetener exceeds 86 degrees F, the wood alcohol in ASPARTAME converts to formaldehyde and then to formic acid, which in turn causes metabolic acidosis. Formic acid is the poison found in the sting of fire ants. The methanol toxicity mimics, among other conditions, multiple sclerosis and systemic lupus.” Methanol toxicity can and will kill you.
Aspartame is known for causing symptoms such as:
One thing I’ve noticed, in regards to food products that contain Aspartame, is that almost every chewing gum and breath mint that’s on the market contains Aspartame! It’s nearly impossible to get away from it in chewing gum, unless you buy it from a local healthfood store and even then you should always read the labels. Some healthfood stores sell questionable products.
Aspartame may be sweet but it is definitely a poison.
