Will someone explain to me all the expansions of Krishna?

From the first to the last expansion. The roles and duties of each of those expansions as well.

Thank you.

Hare KRsna Prabhuji,
PAMHO.
There's good news!! This is already done - in as much detail as you want. Please pick up 18 volumes of Srimad Bhagawatam, from the first volume till the last, starting from page 1, progress to the end of that volume, proceed to the next and so on... complete SB. You will get all the information you want and much more.
Haribol,
Jai Srila Prabhupada.

@Radha Rasamayi DD,

I would prefer a concise explanation here (should be brief and yet it should cover all the various rupas and their duties). I would have picked up all the volumes if i had the time, but the truth is, i don't.

Hare Krsna

Feel free to read these three chapters from teachings of Lord Chaitanya whenever you succeed in finding time.

CHAPTER SIX: His Forms Are One and the Same

CHAPTER SEVEN: Unlimited Forms of Godhead

CHAPTER EIGHT: The Avatāras

Hare Krsna

In the last article (Ch.8 Avataras) its mentioned that Maha Vishnu is the first Purusha incarnation. Is this maha vishnu or first purusha the same as the 'cosmic man/virat purusha' who happens to have the whole creation within his body? The cosmic man or virat purusha that i'm talking about has the devas dwelling in his head or chest region, then humans or bhuloka residing in his waist region and asuras in his lower regions.

Hare Krsna

No

Hare Hrsna

So people in gaudia sampradia don't believe in that cosmic virat purisha then?

Hare Krsna

You seem to have enough time to arrive at such wrong and generalizing rhetorics about Gaudiya Sampradiaya

Perhaps it is better spent if used in learning from authentic scriptures.

Hare Krsna

Yeah right. As if people before the 1950s were going through fake scriptures and then the Hare Krishnas came along, and the birth of authentic scriptures took place on their arrival. Thanks for saving us. lol

Hare Krsna

You can thank  Srila Prabhupada.

Hare Krishna!

LORD KRISHNA exists in three principal forms (Rupas)

1- Svayam-Rupa

2- Tad-Ekatma-Rupa, and

3- Avesha-rupa.

Svayam- As the word suggest it means Original, The supreme personality himself, the KRISHNA who has no origin, who is the source and sum of everything in the entire existence. In this form Krishna is the supreme controller with eternal spiritual body who is full of bliss and knowledge. Krishna has highest number of Gunas (Qualities) with 64 followed by Sri Hari Vishnu with 60 and Lord Shiva 55.

The 4 distinctive unique qualities are as follows :

(61) He is the performer of wonderful varieties of pastimes (especially His childhood pastimes).

(62) He is surrounded by devotees endowed with wonderful love of Godhead.

(63) He can attract all living entities all over the universes by playing on His flute.

(64) He has a wonderful excellence of beauty which cannot be rivaled anywhere in the creation

The following verse describes the Svayam rupa -

īśvaraḥ paramaḥ kṛṣṇaḥ sac-cid-ānanda-vigrahaḥ
anādir ādir govindaḥ sarva-kāraṇa-kāraṇam

Meaning - There is nothing superior to Govinda. He is the ultimate source and the cause of all causes. This is also confirmed in the Bhagavad-gītā (7.7), where the Lord says, mattaḥ parataraṁ nānyat: "There is no truth superior to Me."

Tad-Ekatma-Rupa -The Tad-ekātma-Rūpa forms exist simultaneously with the Svayaṁ-Rūpa form and are nondifferent. At the same time, their bodily features and specific activities appear to be different." The tad-ekātma-rūpa forms are divided into two categories—

Svāṁśa - (Expansions of expansions of the svyama form) HDG Srila Prabhupada explains in CC Madhya-lila 20.185 Purport: ‘When a form of Krishna is nondifferent from the original form but is less important and exhibits less potency it is called svamsa‘.  Svamsa forms include the purusa-avataras and avataras like Matsya, Kurma, Varaha and Nrsimhadeva.

Vilāsa - (Forms that differ in appearance from the svyama-rupa) [CC M.20.174P) Vilasa incarnations are categorised as prabhava and vaibhava (the 24 forms of Vishnu emanating from the catur-vyuha.

You can say everything we experience in this world is created, sustained, or destroyed by one of these forms. The purpose of creation is to provide a learning field where we can awaken to our original relationship with Krishna and rejoin Him in His spiritual creation.

Avesha-rupa - Avesa-rupa refers to ‘empowered forms of the Lord’ ie. the Lord manifesting his energies or qualities through powerful jivas or living entities.  Examples of these are Narada, Prithu and Brahma. The avesa-avataras are living entities.  The use of the word avatara, therefore, is secondary. Avesha Rupa is further divided into 3 Divisions :-

Bhagavad Avesa  (The divine absorption)

Saktya Vesa (Directly Empowered) and

Vibhuti (Indirectly empowered)

One thing to know is even when they are divided or expanded without limit, they are still one and the same. There is no difference between one form and another. That is the absolute nature of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. They are servants of the lord empowered with knowledge and strength. There are unlimited number of Avesa forms.

I hope it helps.

Hare Krishna

Yeah yes helpfull still not pointing out Krishna's uneqekneknss in the matter of Teaching the practice* of Unconditional Love translated as the "Un-abashed personal support system(s) set up exclusively for our personal progressive Spiritual evolution. Just saying a-Krishna Bhakti pratice is the (One) most likely to be the formost learning platform & PROGRAM. So what is the point of reiterating other names of other forms. When the scince of serving the Supreme Lover & wellwisher The Father. Finnaly & basically Only Krishna Gee, allGlory* has our long term best intrest at !❤! ? So who needs a history lesson i'm feeling, What's that to me & how does that translate into a tangable growth addvancement in my jermy in my-evolution? Those other forms after all as you "mearly elude tword the staggering saperreoraty of the Accually Spiritual potancies of the Rahdah Krishna Preama of (HDG's) path of BhaltiSavvah
Prabupadda Gee nothing compairs to Thee* Hare Krishna Hare Hare!
