Hare Krsna Devotees,
Srimad Bhagvtam best among Purans containing 18000 shlokas was first told by Bhagwan to Sri Brahmaji. Thereafter it was conveyed by Brahmaji to Sri Narad Muni who re-conveyed it to Krishn Dwepayan Vyasji. Sril Vyasji then conveyed it to Sril Shukdev Goswami.
Sril Shukdev Goswami told Srimad Bhagvtam as it is to Maharaj Parikshit in the assembly of all learned Rishis. Sril Sut Goswami was also present in that assembly who later told same Srimad Bhagvtam to Sril Shonak & other 88000 Rishis in the assembly at nemisharayan.
The Srimad Bhagvtam which we read contains discussions between Sril Shukdev Goswami and Maharaj Parikshit. It also contains discussions between Sril Sut Goswami and Sril Shonak at nemisharayan.
So, my quarry is whether original Srimad Bhagvtam consists of 18000 shloka or Srimad Bhagvtam which we read now ?. The original Srimad Bhagvtam was scripted by Sril Vyasji. My next quarry is who has written the present Srimad Bhagvtam which we read?.
The above queries are just for academic purpose only and I may please be excused for my basic ignorance.
Hare Krsna Devotees,
It is very strange that not a single comment is received. May I also request senior devotees to shed some light on this issue.
Hare Krishna Prabhu,
Previously srimad Bhagvatam received by hearing generation after generation. it is reapeted by devotees of Krishna who heard it from Previous acharya"s, When its penned down by Vyas devji, today every one is hearing from Vyas devji. Hope Your question is answered.
He went to the Himalayas and meet Lord Vyasadev. Lord told Srimad Bhagavatam to him again.
Later Ishvara Puri took initiation from Madhvacharya. Madhvacharya is an incarnation of Bhima among Pandavas.
Later Lord Chaitanya accepted Ishvara Puri as His Guru.

I am obliged that you have taken interest in present query. I may repeat that present Bhagavatam includes discussions between Sril Shukdev Goswami and Maharaj Parikshit and later between Sril Sut Goswami and Sril Shonak. It implies that presently available edition had been scripted by someone (may be Srila Vyas Devji) after these events.
The above has not been clarified.Though it will always remain true that the author of the Srimad Bhagavatam remains the Supreme Personality of Godhead Krsna.
Hare Krishna Bhagwan Prabhuji,
The present Bhagvatam is written by Shrila Vyasdev. You have already given the answer - "It implies that presently available edition had been scripted by someone (may be Srila Vyas Devji) after these events."
surely its by Shrila Vyasdev.
As mentoned, the Srimad Bhagvatam which we read contains discussions between Sril Shukdev Goswami and Maharaj Parikshit. It also contains discussions between Sril Sut Goswami and Sril Shonak at nemisharayan. So, question is who has written present Srimad Bhagvatam?
Hare Krishna Prabhuji,
It seems that the current Srimad Bhagvatam is the third revised edition of SB by the same author. SB was first written by Shrila Vyasdevji on the instructions of Narad muni, and after compiling he revised it. This first revised edition was spoken to Shrila Sukdev Goswami when he was in bhramabhuta stage. Now later Shrila Sukdev Goswami spoke SB to Parikshit maharaj. At that time Vyasdevji was personally present in that assembly. And after this incident he(Shrila Vyasdevji) compiled a second revised edition.
Now at the time of sacrifices at Naimisharanya this second revised edition was available for all the munis assembled there (including Shrila Suta Goswami and Shonak rishi). In this assembly Suta Goswami further states about Lord Krishna's Pastimes, about birth of King Parikshit and about Pandavas taking renounce order of life.
And after this sacrifices Shrila Vyasdev (Maha muni) wrote the final and third revised edition of SB for the deliverance of all of us.
