  • SB 3.27.28-29, Purport:

The words liṅgād vinirgame, which are used here, mean "after being freed from the two kinds of material bodies, subtle and gross." The subtle body is made of mind, intelligence, false ego and contaminated consciousness, and the gross body is made of five elements—earth, water, fire, air and ether. When one is transferred to the spiritual world, he gives up both the subtle and gross bodies of this material world. He enters the spiritual sky in his pure, spiritual body and is stationed in one of the spiritual planets.
IF ONE IS FREE FROM GROSS MATERIAL BODY AS WELL AS SUBTLE MATERIAL BODY HE CAN ENTER SPRITUAL SKY  WITH  HIS PURE SPIRITUAL BODY.

Spritual body is devoid of both gross material body and subtle material body.

Prana or life air (  Prana, Apana, Udaan, Vyaan, Samana). These are present in Pranamaya kosha next layer after annamaya kosha.. This is left out to mix with air.

Gross material body made up of earth , water, fire, air, ether. These are all cast off and they mix with earth to earth, fire to fire, air to air, space to space.

SB 4.23.15  In this way, Pṛthu Mahārāja gradually raised his air of life up to the hole in his skull, whereupon he lost all desire for material existence. Gradually he merged his air of life with the totality of air, his body with the totality of earth, and the fire within his body with the totality of fire.
SB 4.23.16  In this way, according to the different positions of the various parts of the body, Pṛthu Mahārāja merged the holes of his senses with the sky; his bodily liquids, such as blood and various secretions, with the totality of water; and he merged earth with water, then water with fire, fire with air, air with sky, and so on.
SB 4.23.17  He amalgamated the mind with the senses and the senses with the sense objects, according to their respective positions, and he also amalgamated the material ego with the total material energy, mahat-tattva.
SB 4.23.18  Pṛthu Mahārāja then offered the total designation of the living entity unto the supreme controller of illusory energy. Being released from all the designations by which the living entity became entrapped, he became free by knowledge and renunciation and by the spiritual force of his devotional service. In this way, being situated in his original constitutional position of Kṛṣṇa consciousness, he gave up this body as a prabhu, or controller of the senses.
    air mixes with air..
total body water blood and fluids merges into water.
fire with air ... air with sky.
mind merges with senses and sense objects and they inturn merge into material ego.
    Ego merges into..mahatattva.
Gross material body made up of fire, water, air , earth, ether is lost.
Subtle material body matter up of mind, intelligence and false ego also lost.
Then the soul attains mukti or liberation. It gets a Spiritual  body to serve Lord. If he has a desire to serve Lord. If the soul desires only mukti it gets sayujya mukti .. If it desires to serve lord he gets a Spiritual body ( similar to Lord ) swaroopa mukti and gets to serve Lord in HIS abode ( Sameepya mukti).
If the soul is not able to detach itself from Subtle body ( mind, intelligence and false ego) it gets a sookshma shareer to enter to hell or heaven to suffer/ enjoy the hellish punishments or heavenly treats.
There after when once the soul with sookshma shareera after suffering or enjoying the results of bad/ good karmas. It is takes up another gross material body and comes back to Earth to finish the unfinished desires still left out.
    Hare Krishna.

    Hare Krsna

Does spiritual body have prana ?

Prana means consciousness. Yes spiritual bodies have consciousness.

Does prana come from the soul?

Yes consciousness is a manifestation of presence of soul in a material body.

What happens to prana after death?

At death soul leaves the material body and consciousness is no more manifest in the meaterial body. The body is called dead body.

    Hare Krsna

    • Consciousness and prana are different right, prana is the vital energy and joins with consciousnesses to run the body

I think you mean the life airs - prana, apana, udaan, vyaan, samana.... right? These are part of the body, not soul.

        Hare Krsna

        Hare Krsna

        • Bharat ji do you know what happens to sukshma sarira(subtle body) and karana sarira(causal body) after getting moksha?

          • E-Counselor

            Hare Krsna Prabhuji,

            PAMHO.

Moksha is when we get rid of sukshma sarira. What is karana sarira?

As long as we are in the material world, soul is covered by subtle body. THis subtle body remains the same whichever yoni the soul transfers to. Only when the soul is liberated, it leaves the subtle body.

            Haribol,

            Your servant,

            Radha Rasamayi DD
