We have to pay taxes - but pay smartly. Money rightfully saved from taxes is money earned. It can be used for Krishna conscious activities. Often the tax money is misused - that is their Karma. The person who misuses will suffer. But we have to pay the taxes. However, we have to use our God given intelligence. Tax planning is legitimate in all countries.

I live in the USA. I had to pay over $1000 dollars in taxes. It makes me furious. Just think if I could have donated that $1000 to the Temple instead!!!!! But no, in the USA if you don't pay your taxes you can go to jail.

it is our karma Prabhuji, so shastras we have to use according to time place and circumstances.

Taxes should be paid not only from income but also for given protection, for using roads...or something like that.

It is our karma we have to live according to the rules and laws of the place where we live or else to try to move to other place if possible.

  Hare Krishna Prabhu. Yes I want good roads. I am going to try to tell myself that all of my tax money went to only good causes such as to help the poverty striken elderly people and then I can have some peace of mind.
