Hare Krishna Everyone

Hope you'll are doing great!

My kanthi mala recently broke and I am planning to buy a new one.

I was wondering is it a sign from God or is it normal for a kanthi mala to broke? Cuz it's been only 3 months. My prayers were irregular too.

Also if anyone of you know any good shops in mumbai or online marts to buy kanthi mala please let me know.

    Hare Krishna!

The breaking of a kanthi mala (devotional necklace) can have different interpretations based on individual circumstances. In general, it is not uncommon for a kanthi mala to break due to wear and tear, especially if it is used regularly. However, from a spiritual perspective, we can also consider it as a gentle reminder or message from the Lord. Let me explain with references from Vedic scriptures and Srila Prabhupada:

    1. The significance of the kanthi mala: The kanthi mala is not an ordinary necklace; it is a symbol of our commitment to the process of bhakti (devotional service). It represents our connection with Lord Krishna and His devotees. The Srimad Bhagavatam (11.2.47) states, "The devotee should always chant the holy name of the Lord, and the Lord will reveal Himself as non-different from the holy name." Wearing the kanthi mala helps us remember Krishna and facilitates our chanting of His holy names.

    2. Importance of regular prayers: Irregularity in prayers can affect our spiritual progress. Regularity in our devotional practices, including chanting the holy names, reading scriptures, and offering prayers, helps us maintain a strong connection with Krishna. In the Bhagavad-gita (9.22), Lord Krishna assures, "To those who are constantly devoted and who worship Me with love, I give the understanding by which they can come to Me."

    3. Symbolic message from the breaking of kanthi mala: If your kanthi mala broke after only three months, it could be seen as a reminder to recommit yourself to your spiritual practices. It may indicate the need for more sincerity, regularity, and attentiveness in your prayers. Take it as an opportunity to introspect and evaluate your level of dedication towards your spiritual journey.

Remember, the Lord is always merciful and understanding. He appreciates our sincere efforts to reconnect with Him. Therefore, take this incident as an opportunity to deepen your spiritual practices, recommit yourself to regular prayers, and seek forgiveness for any lapses in your devotional service.

I hope this guidance helps you. May Lord Krishna bless you with steadfast devotion and progress on your spiritual journey.

      Hare KRsna Prabhuji,

      PAMHO.

Please do not speculate. Kanthi mala has to be worn under all circumstances. That is why I mentioned that we keep one spare with us, so that we can be wearing kanthi mala at all times. It is strung together with wire, not thread. So no issues if it gets wet.

    Hare Krsna Mataji,

    PAMHO.

DOnt think so much. Kanthi mala broke, get another one from local ISKCON temple, offer at the feet of Lord and wear. Typically we keep one spare wiht us, so that there is no time when we are not wearing kanthi mala.

You can get in any ISKCON temple or even with your congregational preaching leader if he has one.

    Haribol,

    Your servant,

    Radha Rasamayi DD
