How to deal with selfishness

Hare Krsna ,

Pamho Agtsp

I'm a lone devotee in my family. So I tend to keep my devotional practice almost to myself but sometimes I feel that I'm being selfish. I almost hesitate to say anything about Krishna to my family or people whom I know. May be due to previous conditioning I might be fearful or lazy or just selfish. Is it okay to just take care of yourself? Please give me some tips. We have been having Krishna prasadam daily.

Thanks in advance

    Hare Krsna Mataji,

You have to preach, without opening your mouth. You have to preach with your behavior. Typically families don't like to be preached by daughter/ daughter in law. Therefore, your behavior is the best preaching. YOu have to be happy at all times - everyone is intrigued by someone who can be happy in all circumstances. They want to know what makes a person happy in all circumstances. You have to be strict in your personal sadhana, but lenient in others attempts to follow (if at all).

When someone asks you anything related to Krsna Consciousness, you must answer. Depending on the situation, it could be bite sized information or it could be more detailed.
