How to be in Satvaguna

Hare krishna...

Krishna says in (14th chapter)BG that life is battle of three modes of nature. Raj-Tama-Satva guna.We keep finding ourself in a situations where we experience these three modes. Just like big fish

in a sea eats small fish..The augmented Guna's eat each other. To be in satva guna or to kill satva guna. We need to raise our satva guna by following:

Eat krishna prasad

Have charnamrit

Association of pure devotees

Travel to tirtha sthans

Increase shravan kirtan

Japa done early in the morning also helps

if u know smthing else please suggest

Hare Krsna devotees,  If you can go to a devotee community that lives away from the cities.

Who grow all their own food naturally.

Who live like Krsna lived in Vrndavan with cows.

who are always relishing hearing about the Name fame forms and pastimes of the Lord.

And who never worry for money, job and anything because they only depend on the land and Krsna.

Then you may experience a life of great peace and goodness.

    Hare Krsna

    Hare Krsna,

His divine Grace, A.C Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, has given explanations on this topic in several books, especially in the Srimad Bhagavatam.

"Generally, all conditioned souls in the material encagement are influenced by the mode of passion because every one of them is trying to lord it over the material nature to fulfill his individual desire."

"In the age of Kali (when the mode of passion is most prominent) material activities of different varieties, in the name of advancement of human civilization, take place, and the living entities become more and more involved in forgetting their real identity--the spiritual nature. By a slight cultivation of the mode of goodness, a glimpse of spiritual nature

is perceived, but due to the prominence of the mode of passion, the mode of goodness becomes adulterated. Therefore one cannot transcend the limits of the material modes, and therefore realization of the Lord, who

is always transcendental to the modes of material nature, becomes very difficult for the living entities, even though prominently situated in the mode of goodness through cultivation of the various methods."

"People are most influenced by the mode of ignorance, and some are influenced by the passionate mode of material nature, and under the spell of these two modes a living being is actuated by the material

conception of life. The mundane qualities do not allow a living entity to understand his real position. The qualities of both ignorance and passion strongly bind one to the illusory bodily conception of the self. The best among the fools who are thus deluded are those who engage in altruistic activities under the spell of the material mode of passion."

"Mundane goodness can enlighten one that the body and the self are different, and one in goodness is concerned with the self and not the body. But due to being contaminated, those in mundane goodness cannot understand the real nature of the self as a person. Their impersonal conception of the self as distinct from the body keeps them in the mode of goodness within material nature, and unless they are attracted by krsna-katha, they will never be

liberated from the bondage of material existence. Krsna-katha is the only remedy for all people of the world because it can situate one in pure consciousness of the self and liberate one from material bondage."

"But those who are actually situated in the mode of goodness (sattva-guna) of material nature worship only visnu-tattvas. Visnu-tattvas are represented by various names and forms, such as Narayana, Damodara, Vamana, Govinda and Adhoksaja."

      Hare Krishna!

Please accept my humble obeisances! All glories to Srila Prabhupada!

Until we are in this body we are bound to by those 3 gunas. But in KC we can use them in the service of Krishna and His Devotees.

For example, deep sleeping is in tama guna, but our body and mind takes rest in order to get strength to serve to Krishna.

for working and earning money we need raja guna-passion

we can earn money and use them in Krishna's service.

Cleanliness is in the mode of goodness we need it while serving to Krishna and protecting our body and mind.

When we fully realize our real self as a soul, then we are above those 3 gunas, then we can survive without those 3 gunas.

For example, great sages they can sleep but fully be conscious about everything. They may not eat or drink too much (until in the body some food for the body), but feed their souls being (by meditation) in the Spiritual World...

please, beg You correct me if i am wrong!

      Your servant

Hare Krishna Prabhu, Please accept my humble obeisances! All glories to Srila Prabhupada!

After His Grace Jagadatma Prabhu's answer i understood the question properly, hope.

some times ago, when i had big problems with my chanting i wrote + and - things which effect my chanting. Here they are:

          - minus (those which i try to avoid)

          ----Internet using more than needed

----shopping, looking to not needed things :-)

          ----talking idle things

-----eating too much or not in proper time

-----Not reading Bhagavad Gita and Srimad Bhagavatam

-----too much thinking of future, past on the place of thinking about the lectures.

+ plus (things which i have to do)

-----Reading and learning Bhagavad Gita and Srimad Bhagavatam

          -----To listen lectures

-----Serving to Deities, to take proper care of Them

          -----Sining prayers of Acharias

          -----to write to my Diary

-----To eat on time and only Prasadam

-----Regularly go to the Temple and to serve to the Devotees

          -----Preach about Krishna

-----Chanting on mind 24 hours as possible as i can

          -----cleanliness

          ---------------------------

in the reality on chanting can elevate us above from 3 gunas.

if it is not possible to go to live to the villages and live peaceful life we can create that peace in our mind.

AFTER 16 ROUNDS TO CHANT THE NAMES IN MIND THEN AGAIN NEXT DAY 16 ROUNDS AND AGAIN IN MIND.

here is the nice feature which one senior Devotee gave me when i had problems with proper chanting. of course to read it may take Your 30 minutes but it is worthy for that:
