The Lord descends through His personal energy, therefore He has no strings attached. "Sambhavami atma-mayaya". Whereas the ordinary living entity is forced to take birth, he is bound. But the reason I liked this is that a rainbow also looks very nice like Krsna.

  • Hare Krishna,

The Supreme Lord Sri Krishna and His appearance in the material world is compared by Srila Prabhupada ji to the appearance of Rainbow in the sky without a string.

Normally if you see a bow to make a string tied to it. We need to bend it and position it. then it remains in place to be able to tie a string. But rainbow is a kind of bow which has no strings.

We normally say in our colloquial terminology No Stings attached.

What does it mean? It means HE is coming to to this Material world like a RAINBOW without Strings attached.
    Unlike us... RIGHT?

We have strings attached we are coming to this material earth because we have many desires to ful fill, or many karmas bandhanas to be completely. We are like ordinary bows with strings attached.

But Supreme Lord has nothing to do with Karma, HE is not bound by laws of Karma. He is simply appearing to perform leelas with his devotees to satisfy the devotees.

He is not having any connections or any strings attached to keep coming. But still He is very merciful to devotees and for their sake He keeps coming whenever there is fall of dharma or to perform leelas with his devotees. So, Srila Prabhupada ji has compared appearance of Sri Krishna to be like a  rainbow without a string.

    Hare Krishna.
