Hearing katha from other sampradaya

Hare Krishna

Is there any instructions given by Srila Prabhupad regarding hearing from another sampraday. I hear from Radha vallabh sampradaya in vrindavan and there teaching are very similar to ours. They worship Shri Radha in sanchari bhaav. It is not like that iskcon lack something but i also like hearing from there.

If you have taken spiritual initiation or have decided to take spiritual initiation from a guru, it is better to ask this question to your guru. If not then it is alright to read or hear from Vaishnava sampradaya

  • Hare Krishna,

Take good from all and leave the bad. One must be like a SWAN. The Swan has unique ability to seperate water from the milk. If you keep muddy water in front of swan it can sperate the water from the mud.

Basically it means to take good from all directions leave the bad. Because, In kaliyuga good and bad are inseperably mixed. You must be the swan.

I was reading an old answer on forum , and there someone said that Srila Prabhupad has said not to hear from any other sampradaya but i couldn't find this somehwere else. Do you have idea that Srila Prabhupad has said something like this or not

      • Well thats true .. Radha Vallabh sampradaya are more of a kinda not strict followers and many are Sahjiya's. We shouldn't follow them. As they don't belong to main stream sampradya's but ya you can see vids and learn things but not required. They have temple in Vrindavan radha vallabh sampradaya temple. The followers eat paan, and have chai and they have their own set of rules which gaudiyas wont agree to. The starter of this sampradaya was a student of Gopal bhatta goswami and he didn't follow what his guru said to follow and started his own sampradaya because he felt he got directions from Radharani Herself.

Well It is upto the person to take good and leave bad. This is a temple in Vrindavan. So, I don't say they are not devotees at all. But just be cautious as there are many sahjiyas out there.

yes Srila Prabhupada strictly said not to hear from other sampradayas as not all are able to chose like Swan's.  People get easily attracted to Sahjiya philosophy as it is Kaliyuga. so just becareful.

        pls. check this website.

I don't want to create any bad intention for anyone thru this platform. Because all are having good devotees and bad devotees. I don't want to label any great saint and take this bad karma and do vaishanava aparadh.

I would not suggest you not to follow or follow it is upto you.

There are many so-called followers of the Vaiṣṇava cult in the line of Caitanya Mahāprabhu who do not scrupulously follow the conclusions of the śāstras, and therefore they are considered to be apa-sampradāya, which means “outside of the sampradāya.”

        CC aadi 7.48 purport:-

In the paramparā system, the instructions taken from the bona fide spiritual master must also be based on revealed Vedic scriptures. One who is in the line of disciplic succession cannot manufacture his own way of behavior. There are many so-called followers of the Vaiṣṇava cult in the line of Caitanya Mahāprabhu who do not scrupulously follow the conclusions of the śāstras, and therefore they are considered to be apa-sampradāya, which means "outside of the sampradāya." Some of these groups are known as āula, bāula, kartābhajā, neḍā, daraveśa, sāṅi, sahajiyā, sakhībhekī, smārta, jāta-gosāñi, ativāḍī, cūḍādhārī and gaurāṅga-nāgarī. In order to follow strictly the disciplic succession of Lord Caitanya Mahāprabhu, one should not associate with these apasampradāya communities.

These thirteen, fourteen apasampradāyas. They are passing as Caitanya Mahāprabhu's sampradāya. But they're the worst, rejected

Prabhupāda: Sakhībekhī. There are so many apasampradāyas, thirteen at least in the counting by Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura: āula, bāula kartābhajā, neḍā, daraveśa, sāṅi sahajiyā, sakhībekhī. This sakhībekhī. Smārta, jāta-gosāñi, ativāḍī, cūḍādhārī, gaurāṅga-nāgarī. These thirteen, fourteen apasampradāyas. They are passing as Caitanya Mahāprabhu's sampradāya. But they're the worst, rejected. The sakhībekhī, dressing like.... To cheat Kṛṣṇa. Kṛṣṇa is after the gopīs, so they have dressed like gopī, and Kṛṣṇa does not know that he's a rascal man. (laughter) Just see. This is their intelligence, to.... "I have become a sakhī. Kṛṣṇa will embrace me and kiss me." So Kṛṣṇa is so fool. (laughs) These rascals are doing that. Sakhībhekhī. There was a Lalitā-sakhi in Navadvīpa. All women surrounding him. Somebody is dressing him with red, what is called?

I am sorry I cannot do this vaishnava apradh. could be there are good devotees in them also. But ya it doesn't belong to main sampradaya.

Only Srila Prabhupada or other big personalities can comment on this, I cannot do I am not so great to do ninda of any sampradaya.
