It is better to avoid on auspicious dwadashi days like "Maha dwadashi days" . In any case also you must try to avoid cutting, nail, hair or shaving on ekadashi and dwadashi. In perticular if its Mahadwadashi day just avoid.. Like last ekadashi ( Putrada Ekadashi) we had combined mahadwadashi day also. On that day in Iskcon and all vaishnavas basically fast continously on both days. Ekadashi and Mahadwadashi followed. if possible ( just one day) or just on maha dwadashi day they fast. If possible on both days ( preferebly) on these special days it is best to avoid the shaving and cutting nails.
