well of course you can pray, prayers alone are not enough, action is also required

you should also pray to become a more sincere person & a sincere devotee

consider these factors : what is goal of your life - whether you want to enter grahasta ashram or not, what is financial requirement of your family etc..

you must establish relationship with a senior devotee (preferably not on internet but face-to-face in real life) who will understand your nature and guide you

hare krishna

My Humble Obeisance Prabhuji!

Jai Srila Prabhupada,

Question: Hare Krishna all glories to AC bhaktivedanta swami srila Prabhupada ki jay I have a query can we pray to krishna for our good educational facilities and some material profits does it good for our path of spirituality?

Hare Krishna! Yes, you can pray even for a material benefits, because Krishna is the Supreme Personality of Godhead he can bless you with what ever you want. Krishna is the eternal friend of all jivatama he knows the right and wrong for his devotee or jivatma.

First of all he will see your eligibility what you are asking for and will it be good for you or not. Krsna never give his bhakt any boon which can fall him from his spiritual path. So I don't think if there is any harm to ask any thing material or non material directly from krsna.

Krsna takes time to fulfill his devotee desire because he tests his devotees by not reciprocating to them easily, so in this way pure devotee wins but then materialistic people switches to demigods.

I said yes but also suggest not to ask anything material from lord. Because it is not good for attaining the spiritual love for lord, love should be selfless without any demand or desire. Pure devotee lover of lord want nothing from him but Lord's selfless service for his lotus feet like, Hanuman Ji always wanted to remain near the lotus feet of lord to serve them. Sudama Vipra visited Dwarika for only lord darshan although he was sent by his wife to ask for help his poverty. But Sudhama didn't asked for anything and lord fulfilled his this desire himself presenting him a shining palace which excelled heaven in its beauty. Sudhama Vidpra didn't knew about this that he already has got the boon which he got surprised after reaching home. He thanked krsna with tear in his eyes, one thing more he didn't ever used that opulence what he got from lord for his own gratification but only for the service and offering to lord.

I am a fallen soul any mistake be forgiven. Hare Krishna

JUST STICK TO KRSNA

Even if you have got material desires, sarva-kāma, still you be attached to Kṛṣṇa so your material aspiration will be fulfilled; at the same time, you’ll get Kṛṣṇa. When Dhruva Mahārāja refused to take any benediction, Lord Viṣṇu informed him that “Don’t bother. You had some desire for material fulfillment, so there is Dhruvaloka. You enjoy, and after your life is finished, you’ll come to Vaikuṇṭha.” So Kṛṣṇa is so nice, so liberal, that if you have got a little tinge of aspiration He will fulfill you, and at the same time, you’ll go back to home, back to Godhead. Therefore it is recommended, yajeta paramaṁ puruṣa. If you have got some material desire, still you worship Kṛṣṇa. He’ll fulfill; at the same time, you will be able to go back to home, back to Godhead. Kṛṣṇa is all-powerful, almighty, full with six opulences. So if you have got any material desire, that also Kṛṣṇa can fulfill, but you stick to Kṛṣṇa so that your āsakti will be increased. If you divert your attention to other demigods, then this āsakti will fail. Therefore for a devotee who sticks his faith in Kṛṣṇa, he has no chance for worshiping other demigods. So the Narottama dāsa Ṭhākura says, anya devāśraya nāi, tomāre kahinu bhāi, ei parama bhakti karaṇa. For a devotee of Kṛṣṇa there is no scope for worshiping other Deity, because that will not help him to increase his attachment for Kṛṣṇa. But if we want our āsakti, attachment, to increase for Kṛṣṇa, then absolute… ~ Srila Prabhupada Lecture December 27, 1975

Well, tell me If I say Krishna wont give you anything will you stop praying to HIM?

There is a difference between Business and love. You must understand that.  Business is give and take.  OKay I pray to you so you have to give me some boons in return.  Do you see anywhere love in this relationship?

Krishna is capable of giving anything be it material or spiritual no doubt about it,  as He is the proprietor of the whole universe.  But Krishna likes to see selfless love for HIM.

What is in store in your destiny can you change it??  Though Krishna has the power to change your destiny. He doesn't interfere in this matter.  People come to the earth with everything predestined. From birth to death. Knowing this also. We always want to get some material benefits? is it not something unintelligent thing to ask for?

Whatever you sow you shall reap.

Is there any end to desires is the next question!!!!!!

Will this desire to have a good education facility and some material profits? will end?  When one desire ends new desire begins. Once you are done with education you will surely ask for good job placement. Nope there is no end to any material desire. Even though we are well aware that what is in your destiny no one can change it.

Anil Ambani thinks becoz of his hardwork and day in and out hard work he could make a fortune. But to be frank. It was in his destiny so he is at that position. Last birth last wish whatever you seek ( ask for) you are provided that to enjoy in this world. You enjoy that....until you get vexed of it and say.. I don't want this anymore.. and you go asking another thing which is lacking at the end of this life. Desire is the root cause of all repeated cycles of birth and deaths.

You go running to other demigod's and think they would change your destiny or Karma? To to frank no one has the power to change your destiny except Krishna.

In this aspect  HDG Srila Prabhupada says..

One cannot obtain any result from demigods without getting sanction from the Supreme Lord. Therefore a person with a broader outlook can see that the ultimate authority is the Lord, even for material benefits. Under the circumstances, one with a broader outlook, even with the desire for material enjoyment or for liberation, should take to the worship of the Lord directly. (Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 2.3.10)

Without Lord's sanction no demigod has that much power also to change your destiny or give you material benefits also.

But If you approach Lord with the idea of getting some material benefit out of HIM. He would simply give you Intelligence rather. Intelligence to distinguish from what is real and what is unreal.

This mantra is a viṣṇu-mantra, for by practicing the chanting of this mantra one is elevated to the Viṣṇuloka. Dhruva Mahārāja regrets that although he was initiated in the viṣṇu-mantra by a Vaiṣṇava, he still aspired for material benefits. That was another cause for lamentation. Although he got the result of the viṣṇu-mantra by the causeless mercy of the Lord, he lamented how foolish he was to have strived for material benefits while practicing devotional service. (Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 4.9.31)

Lord sometimes offer some material benefits to devotees. But if the devotee is not sincere he would certainly keep on asking more and more material benefits.  Then Lord simply takes away all material benefits.

The Lord sometimes offers benedictions to the neophyte devotees who have not yet understood that material facilities will not make them happy. In the Caitanya-caritāmṛta the Lord therefore says that a sincere devotee who is not very intelligent may ask some material benefit from the Lord, but the Lord, being omniscient, does not generally give material rewards but, on the contrary, takes away whatever material facilities are being enjoyed by His devotee, so that ultimately the devotee will completely surrender unto Him. (Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 4.20.30)

Lord gives intelligence to the constantly engaged devotee so that he may gradually approach the Lord without difficulty.

Srila Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura comments in this regard that if a foolish child requests his mother to give him poison, the mother, being intelligent, will certainly not give him poison, even though he requests it. A materialist does not know that to accept material possessions means to accept poison, or the repetition of birth and death. An intelligent person, a brahmana, aspires for liberation from material bondage. That is the real self-interest of a human being."( SB 6.9.49 purport)

If a krpana, not knowing his self-interest, foolishly asks for something material, one who awards it to him is also foolish. Krishna, however, is not a foolish person; He is supremely intelligent. If someone comes to Krishna asking for material benefits, Krishna does not award him the material things he desires. Instead, the Lord gives him intelligence so that he will forget his material desires and become attached to the Lord's lotus feet. In such cases, although the krpana offers prayers to Lord Krishna for material things, the Lord takes away whatever material possessions the krpana has and gives him the sense to become a devotee." (6.9.49 purport).
When you love Lord you will not ask anything or any benefit from HIM. He who gave you life knows how to protect you also.   Lord is so caring that before you took birth itself he prepared milk for you in the chest of the mother. He knows what to give when to give. You need not even ask for anything. Just learn to surrender to HIM that is only needed.
Hare Krishna.

okk thanks for reply you told that is Vishnu mantra which one can elevate to vaikuntha loka and Krishna mantra which one can elevate to goloka Vrindavana

Here Visnu - mantra means .. Om namo bhagavate vasudevaya was given to dhurv maharaj by Narad muni ji.

This also called moksha mantra and dwadashakshar mantra. During dhurva time this was the mantra.

Kaliyug mantra is Mahamantra.

Don't get  too much particular about what mantra lead to which loka. Please keep doing without the desire of the result of karma. Results are not in your hands. Lord only can decide which loka to give you.

Hare Krishna.

Hare Krsna,

Pamho,

Please chant Hare Krsna Maha Mantra.

Hare Krsna Hare Krsna Krsna Krsna Hare Hare

Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare

Talking of prayers , This mantra is the Supreme most prayer. That's why it's called as Maha mantra as told by Srila Prabhupad ji.

Krsna will take care of your well being.

Thanks
